Points to be remembered:

This section- Chapter 36- Realization is for Hindus only. No other person can understand it or follow it. Though Buddhists and Jains also believe in rebirths, the language used by Tiru Valluvar is Bhagavad Gita Language

If you read Buddhist Veda, Dhammapada, you would not find any similarity. The last Kural 360 matches with Bhagavad Gita16-21– THREE GATES OF HELL-

त्रिविधं नरकस्येदं द्वारं नाशनमात्मन: ।

काम: क्रोधस्तथा लोभस्तस्मादेतत्‍त्रयं त्यजेत् ॥ 16-२१ ॥

tri-vidhaṁ narakasyedaṁ dvāraṁ nāśanam ātmanaḥ

kāmaḥ krodhas tathā lobhas tasmād etat trayaṁ tyajet

BG 16.21: There are three gates leading to the hell of self-destruction for the soul—lust, anger, and greed. Therefore, one should abandon all three.

COMPARE DHAMMAPADA – SLOKA-263/4

Verse 262: Not by fine talk, nor by good looks could one be a good-hearted man, if he were envious, miserly and crafty.

Verse 263: A wise man who has cut off, uprooted and removed these and has rid himself of moral defilements is indeed called a good-hearted man.

THIS SHOWS TIRU VALLUVAR FOLLOWS GITA AND NOT ANY OTHER SCRIPTURE.

Compare another Kural 353 with Bhagavad Gita 4-40 ABOUT DOUBTING THOMASSES

अज्ञश्चाश्रद्दधानश्च संशयात्मा विनश्यति ।

नायं लोकोऽस्ति न परो न सुखं संशयात्मन: ॥ 4-40॥

ajñaśh chāśhraddadhānaśh cha sanśhayātmā vinaśhyati

nāyaṁ loko ’sti na paro na sukhaṁ sanśhayātmanaḥ

BG 4.40: But persons who possess neither faith nor knowledge, and who are of a doubting nature, suffer a downfall. For the skeptical souls, there is no happiness either in this world or the next.

Compare Kural 356 with BG 5-17 which talks about ONE WAY TICKET TO HEAVEN – NO RETURN TICKET

तद्बुद्धयस्तदात्मानस्तन्निष्ठास्तत्परायणा: ।

गच्छन्त्यपुनरावृत्तिं ज्ञाननिर्धूतकल्मषा: ॥5- 17॥

tad-buddhayas tad-ātmānas tan-niṣhṭhās tat-parāyaṇāḥ

gachchhantyapunar-āvṛittiṁ jñāna-nirdhūta-kalmaṣhāḥ

BG 5.17: Those whose intellect is fixed in God, who are completely absorbed in God, with firm faith in Him as the supreme goal, such persons quickly reach the state from which there is no return, their sins having been dispelled by the light of knowledge.

Valluvar never said rebirth but used  VAARAA NERI in Tamil; No Return Method; in other words No Return Ticket is given from Heaven to Earth.

In short ,if one matches  his words, ideas, thoughts and style it will be closer to Bhagavad Gita than any other scripture.

Because of his chapters on REBIRTH and VEGETARIANISM, no Christian or Muslim can follow Valluvar.

If any Hindu idiot counters me, he should get a certificate from a Muslim or a Christian priest! Let them say Valluvar Kural is universal and acceptable for them.

The heavens are nearer than the earth itself– SMD

To them whose spirits lack perception of the true?
Even those who have all the knowledge which can be attained by the five senses, will derive no benefit from it, if they are without a knowledge of the true nature of things. – GUP

354.Those who have not attained true understanding achieve nothing tough they have gained controlled of the five senses-EVS

355.Go behind the veils of whatever things you may come across in life and track the spirit of truth to its subtlest retreats. Therein lies wisdom– ANM+2

355.Whatever be the apparent diversity of things, it is wisdom,

To analyse and perceive the basic truth of the matter– SMD

‘Tis wisdom’s part in each the very thing to see.
(True) knowledge is the perception concerning every thing of whatever kind, that that thing is the true thing. – GUP

355.Discerning the reality of appearances, whatever they may be , is real wisdom—EVS

356.Behold the man who has learnt the truth through initiation; he shall enter the path that leads not again into the darkness of the world– ANM+2

356.Those who have assiduously learnt to realise the Truth,

Are well on the way to release from births– SMD

Who learn, and here the knowledge of the true obtain,
Shall find the path that hither cometh not again.
They, who in this birth have learned to know the True Being, enter the road which returns not into this world. – GUP

Enter the path of non-return.        – SB

356.Those who have realised the truth in this birth through the teaching of their preceptor, know how to avoid being born again in this world—EVS

357.In life’s voyaging, there is no more need to sail from harbour to harbour for one, who is lost in ceaseless meditation and becomes one with the Maker– ANM+2

357.A mind that perceives the underlying truth of all matter, and directs itself

To the fountain of all Truth need not worry about rebirth—SMD

The mind that knows with certitude what is, and ponders well,
Its thoughts on birth again to other life need not to dwell.
Let it not be thought that there is another birth for him whose mind having thoroughly considered (all it has been taught) has known the True Being. – GUP

He is free from thoughts of rebirth.   – SB

357.He who has realised the truth beyond doubt, after thorough investigation of Guru, need no more be afraid of rebirth—EVS

358.It is true wisdom to know the supremely Good and the Adorable, to emerge from the folly and delusion of life and death – ANM+2

When folly, cause of births, departs; and soul can view
The truth of things, man’s dignity- ’tis wisdom true.
True knowledge consists in the removal of ignorance; which is (the cause of) births, and the perception of the True Being who is (the bestower of) heaven. – GUP

And remove the folly of birth.       – SB

358.When illusion which is the main cause of birth clears up, the realisation of truth which results is true wisdom—EVS

358.Freed from the folly that leads us back to birth

To realize the God Supreme, is knowledge true- HAP

358. பிறப்பென்னும் பேதைமை நீங்கச் சிறப்பென்னும்
செம்பொருள் காண்பது அறிவு.

359.Life’s sorrow that afflicts the whole creation cling not to the soul which has sought shelter under the wings of the Mighty Being that sustains all– ANM+2

359.Those who seeks God’s grace and severe all other bonds,

 Will be effectively free from all worldly sorrows—SMD

The true ‘support’ who knows- rejects ‘supports’ he sought before-
Sorrow that clings all destroys, shall cling to him no more.
He who so lives as to know Him who is the support of all things and abandon all desire, will be freed from the evils which would otherwise cleave to him and destroy (his efforts after absorption). – GUP

359.Know the Refuge; off with bondage
Be free from ills of thraldom, O sage. – SB

359.If a man realises the all-pervading being and lives a life of detachment he shall become free from the trammels of his past actions which might frustrate his effort to realise the truth and also be come immune from any future afflictions by them-EVS

359.Those clinging and destroying ills shall never touch him

Who the real Refuge knows and from all bonds lives free- HAP

359. சார்புணர்ந்து சார்பு கெடஒழுகின் மற்றழித்துச்
சார்தரா சார்தரு நோய்.

360.All the ills of life vanish into nothingness, when our heart is rid of triple tyranny of lust, wrath and delusion– ANM+2

360.Once the triple evils of lust anger and delusion are eliminated,

All sorrows will come to an end– SMD

When lust and wrath and error’s triple tyranny is o’er,
Their very names for aye extinct, then pain shall be no more.
If the very names of these three things, desire, anger, and confusion of mind, be destroyed, then will also perish evils (which flow from them). – GUP
