இந்துக்களுக்கு வான சாஸ்திரம் எனப்படும் வானவியல் தெரியுமா?

ஏன் இந்தக் கேள்வி எழுகிறது?

கிரேக்கர்களிடமிருந்துதான் சில விஷயங்களை நாம் கற்றோம் என்று அங்கொன்றும் இங்கொன்றுமாக சிலர் எழுதியதைப் படித்ததுண்டு. அவர்கள் எழுதியன எல்லாம் தவறு என்பதற்குப் பல சான்றுகள் உண்டு.

முதலாவதாக, தமிழிலும் சம்ஸ்கிருதத்திலும் ஒவ்வொரு கிரகத்துக்கும் பல பெயர்கள் இருக்கின்றன. புகழ்பெற்ற அமரகோஷம் என்ற வடமொழி நிகண்டிலும், தமிழ் நிகண்டுகளிலும் இவ்வாறு பல பெயர்களைக் காணும்போது உலகில் நாம் தான் இத்துறையில் முன்னேற்றம் கண்டோம் என்பது தெளிவாகிறது. உலகின் ஏனைய செம்மொழிகளில் இவ்வளவு பெயர்களை காண முடிவது இல்லை.

இரண்டாவது விஷயம், சம்ஸ்கிருத, தமிழ் நூல்களில் கிரகங்கள் பற்றி ஒரே கருத்து இருப்பதாகும். இமயம் முதல் குமரி வரை இப்படி சங்க காலத்திலேயே இருப்பது வியாழன், வெள்ளி கிரகங்கள் பற்றிய அடை மொழிகளில் (அந்தணர் இருவர்) என்ற குறிப்புகளில் இருந்து தெரிகிறது.
தனித் தமிழ் வெறி இல்லை. சம்ஸ்கிருதச் சொற்கள் தமிழ் நிகண்டுகளில் நிறைய பயன்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன.

மூன்றாவது, கிரகங்களுக்கு இட்ட பெயர்களே அதைப் பயிலுவோருக்குப் பல விஷயங்களைக் கற்பிக்கின்றன. ஒரு சில உதாரணங்களால் இதை விளக்குகிறேன். சனிக் கிரகத்துக்கு மந்தன், முடவன் என்ற வடமொழி, தமிழ் மொழிச் சொற்கள் இருக்கின்றன. சோதிடத்தில் பயன்படுத்தப்படும்— கண்ணுக்குத் தெரியக் கூடிய கிரகங்களில்—- சனிக் கிரகம்தான் சூரியனைச் சுற்ற அதிக காலம் எடுக்கிறது. ஒரு சுற்றுக்கு 30 ஆண்டுகள் ஆகும். இது விஞ்ஞான உண்மை. இதை விளக்கும் வகையில் நாம் பெயரிட்டோம். முடவன்/மந்தி என்ற பெயரால் சிறுவர்களும் இதை நினைவிற்கொள்ள முடியும். உலகின் ஏனைய செம்மொழிகளில் இப்படிப்பட்ட பெயர்களை காண முடிவது இல்லை.

மற்றொரு எடுத்துக் காட்டு, வெள்ளி கிரகத்துக்கு மழைக் கோள் என்று பெயர். புற நானூற்றில் நாலைந்து பாடல்களில் இந்தக் குறிப்பு வருகிறது. இதுவரை விஞ்ஞானிகள் கண்டு பிடிக்காத இந்த விஷயம் தமிழ் மொழி வடமொழி நூல்களில் மட்டுமே கானப்படும் உண்மை. எதிர்காலத்தில் விஞ்ஞானிகள் இதை உறுதிப்படுத்தும்போது நாம் மார்தட்டிக் கொள்ளலாம், —நாங்கள் அன்றே சொன்னோம்— என்று. வியாழன் கிரகத்தை “ஆண்டு அளப்பான்” என்று நிகண்டுகள் கூறும். அதாவது ஒரு ராசிக்கு ஒரு ஆண்டு வீதம் 12 ராசிகலையும் சுற்றிவர 12 ஆண்டுகள் ஆகும். மஹா மகம், கும்பமேளா முதலிய பண்டிகைகள் குரு சஞ்சாரத்தின் அடிப்படையில் அமைந்தவை. கிரகங்களின் பெயர்களில் இருந்தே விஞ்ஞானம்/ வான சாஸ்திரம் கற்கும் முறை நம்மிடம் மட்டுமே உள்ளது.

நாலாவதாக, கிரகங்களுக்கு நாம் இட்ட வர்ணப் பெயர்களும் நம்முடைய வான சாஸ்திர அறிவுக்குச் சான்று பகரும். சங்கத் தமிழில் சனிக் கிரகத்துக்கு மைம்மீன் என்று பெயர். இதையே வட மொழிகளில் “நீலாய” என்ற பதம் குறிக்கும். நீலம் என்பதை கருப்புக்கும் கரு நீலத்துக்கும் பயன்படுத்துவது உண்டு.
பொன் = வியாழன்
வெள்ளி = வெண்மை நிறம் உடைய வீனஸ்
செவ்வாய் = செந்நிறக் கோள்
பச்சை = புதன்

ஆங்கிலத்திலோ கிரேக்கத்திலோ இப்படி கலர் மூலம் எல்லா கிரகங்களையும் அழைப்பதில்லை.
ஐந்தாவதாக, நாம் சில புதிய விஷயங்களைக் கூறுகிறோம். இவை இரு மொழி நூல்களிலும் உள்ள உண்மைகள். இதுவரை விஞ்ஞானம் நிரூபிக்காத உண்மைகள். எதிர்காலத்தில் நாம் சொன்னது சரியே என்று நிரூபணமானால் நமக்கு (இந்துக்களுக்கு) நோபல் பரிசு கிடைக்கும். அவை என்ன? ஆறு மிகப் பெரிய உண்மைகள் என்று கீழே கொடுத்துள்ளேன்.

ஆறாவதாக, பிராமணர்கள் தினமும் முப்பொழுதும் செய்யும் த்ரிகால சந்தியாவந்தனத்தில் நவக்ரஹ வழிபாடு— ஆயிரக் கணக்கான ஆண்டுகளாக—- உள்ளது. இதை கிரேக்கர்கள் சொல்லி நாம் செய்தோம் என்றால் யார் நம்புவார்கள்?

ஏழாவதாக, ஞான சம்பந்தரின் கோளறு பதிகத்தின் முதல் பாடலிலேயே ஞாயிறு முதல் கிரகங்கள் ஒன்பதும் வருகின்றன. ஆக நம்மிடம் இருந்துதான், உலகமே இதைக் கற்றுக் கொண்டன என்பதற்கு அகச் சான்றுகளும், புறச் சான்றுகளும், நூற்றுக் கணக்கான இடங்களில் உள்ளன.

ஆறு மிகப் பெரிய உண்மைகள்
இந்துக்கள் உலக மக்களுக்கு ஆறு மிகப் பெரிய உண்மைகளை சொல்கின்றனர்:–

1.செவ்வாய் கிரகம், பூமியின் புதல்வன்
2.புதன் கிரகம் சந்திரனின் புதல்வன்
3.சனிக் கிரகம், சூரியனின் புதல்வன்
4.வெள்ளிக் கோளுக்கும் மழைக்கும் தொடர்பு உண்டு
5.சந்திரனுக்கும் மனதுக்கும் தொடர்பு உண்டு (இது ரிக் வேதத்தில் புருஷ சூக்தத்தில் உள்ளது)
6.சூரியனுக்கும் கண்களுக்கும் தொடர்பு உண்டு (இது ரிக் வேதத்தில் புருஷ சூக்தத்தில் உள்ளது)
இது தவிர ஏழாவது உண்மையும் இருக்கிறது. சூரியனை சுற்றி வாலகீயர்கள் என்னும் 60,000 குள்ளமான முனிவர்கள் இருக்கின்றனர். இது பற்றி ஏற்கனவே ஒரு கட்டுரை எழுதினேன்.

எட்டாவது உண்மை, குரு கிரகம் பற்றியும் அதன் கவன் கண் வீச்சு ஆற்றல் பர்றியும், அது எப்படி ராக்கெட்டுகளை எரிபொருள் இல்லாமல் விண்ணில் பறக்க வைக்கிறது என்பதையும் ஏற்கனவே தனிக் கட்டுரையில் கொடுத்து இருக்கிறேன். குரு என்றாலேயே கனம் என்று பொருள். நவக் கிரகங்களில் பெரியது குரு என்பது விஞ்ஞான உண்மை என்பதையும் ஏற்கனவே ஒரு கட்டுரையில் விளக்கி இருக்கிறேன்.

இவைகளின் பொருள் என்ன?
ஒரு உதாரணத்தை எடுத்துக் கொள்வோம்:
பூமியின் புதல்வன் செவ்வாய் என்று தமிழ் நிகண்டு, சம்ஸ்கிருத ஸ்லோகங்கள் சொல்லும். பூமியும் செவ்வாயும் ஒரே நில அமைப்பை உடையவை என்று ஒரு பொருள் கொள்ளலாம். நமக்கு மிக அருகில் இருப்பதால் அங்குதான் முதல் “காலனி” அமைக்க விஞ்ஞானிகளும் முயற்சி செய்கின்றனர்.

இரண்டாவது அர்த்தம், ஒரு காலத்தில் பூமியின் மீது ஏதோ ஒன்று மோத செவ்வாய் கிரகம் “சுகப் பிரசவம்” ஆனது. அதாவது மோதலில் பிரிந்த/பிறந்த கிரகம் செவ்வாய்!

இதே போல சந்திரனின் மகன் புதன் என்பதற்கும் பொருள் சொல்லலாம். சந்திரனின் ஒரு துண்டுதான் புதன். இரண்டும் ஒரே அமைப்புடையவை. ஆனால் இவைகளை எல்லாம் எதிர்கால சோதனைகள்தான் சரியா தப்பா என்று சொல்ல முடியும். இன்னும் வான சாஸ்திர அறிஞர்கள் உறுதி செய்யாத விஷயங்கள் இவை. லண்டனிலும், அமெரிக்காவிலும் வெளியிடப்படும் வான சாஸ்திர மாத இதழ்களைப் படிப்போருக்கு புதுப் புது செய்திகள் கிடைத்துக் கொண்டே இருக்கின்றன. இதனுடைய சுருக்கச் செய்திகள் இந்தியப் பத்திரிக்கைகளிலும் வெளிவருகின்றன. சுருங்க்சச் சொன்னால் விஞ்ஞானிகளே இன்னும் முடிவுக்கு வராத விஷயங்கள் இவை. ஆனால் ஒரு போக்கு தெளிவாகத் தெரிகிறது—நாம் சொன்னவை சரி என்ற செய்தி விரைவில் வரும் என்ற போக்கு அது!

என்னுடைய கருத்து:
இது சரியா? தப்பா? என்பதைவிட இப்படி யோசித்த மூளையை எண்ணி எண்ணி வியக்க வேண்டி இருக்கிறது. இப்படி ஒரு கிரகத்துக்கும் இன்னொரு கிரகத்துக்கும் முடிச்சுப் போட்டோமே. இதைச் செய்யக்கூட அதைப் பற்றிய அறிவும், தொடர் சிந்தனையும் தேவை. நாம் இதை எல்லாம் எழுதிய காலத்தில் உலகம் தட்டை என்று எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருந்தனர் மேலை நாட்டினர்!!!

நாமோ பூமியை எப்பொழுதுமே “பூகோளம்” (புவி உருண்டை) என்றுதான் பாடமே நடத்தினோம். கோப்பர் நிகசும், கலீலியோவும் கண்டுபிடித்ததாக மேலை நாட்டுக்காரர்கள் பெருமை பேசிய விஷயங்கள் ஆரியபட்டர், வராஹமிகிரர் எழுதிய நூல்களில் மட்டுமின்றி சங்கத் தமிழ் இலக்கியத்திலும், இதிஹாச புராணங்களிலும் உள்ளது.

How Many People did Indra Kill?

Foreign “scholars” have been fooling Indians for nearly 300 years because they know that lot of Hindus never read anything Hindu in original, for instance 20,379 Vedic Verses or 24,000 verses of Valmiki Ramayana or 100,000 verses of Mahabharata 800,000 verses of the Puranas. It is very easy to cheat the Hindus. So anyone can quote any of these verses and write anything they wanted. Whenever they touch anything Hindu their imagination runs riot. They won’t do it in the case of other religions because they know the serious repercussions. Moreover what other religions have got is very little. If Hindu scriptures are Pacific Ocean, theirs is just a small lake. It is no way of belittling their holiness or their importance. It is just a quantitative analysis.

Archaeological evidence for Indra and other Vedic Gods are available from 1400 BCE. Indra is mentioned in the Bogazkoy inscription in 1400 BCE in Turkey (150 kms from Ankara). He was worshipped even before this date in India. He is mentioned a few times in Zend Avesta as well.

Indra has got more than forty names in the Vedic literature. He is mentioned in 300 hymns in the Rig Veda, the oldest scripture in the world. No hero or God in the world had so much coverage around 1200 BCE, the date given to Rig Veda by most of the scholars. But Hindus believe that Vedas are timeless, ageless with no beginning or no end. It is there forever and seers can catch those hymns like we catch (tune in) radio waves/broadcasts. Great Hindu philosophers Shankara, Ramanuja and Madhwa and commentators like Sayana approached it differently. They never mentioned Arya, Dravida, Munda, Mongoloid, Caucasian etc. Because they are not in the Vedas!

Word Arya occurs 34 times in the Rig Veda. It is not used with racial connotation. Dravida or Munda is not there. If I say educated or uneducated, cultured or not cultured, Hindus or Non Hindus there is no racial meaning. They used Arya to mean cultured, respectful etc. Dasas or Dasyus were criticized. Even Tulsidas and Kalidas called themselves Dasas! So we have to judge after reading the book in its entirety. Last hymn of the Rig Veda summarises beautifully well its purpose (Please see “Vedic Hymn – Better than National Anthems” for more details, posted on April 17, 2014).

Just to show how foreigners are deceiving Hindus, I have given below some mind boggling numbers concerning Indra and other Gods; In all these originals they insert words like ‘Non Aryan’, ‘Munda’, ‘Dravidian’, ‘Foreign’, ‘Iranian’ according to their whims and fancies or their concocted theories. They will hide facts like Indra’s greatest achievement was killing the “Brahmins” Trisiras and Vritra, Indra’s wife Saci was an “Asura” lady. If they reveal the words Brahmin, Asura, all their racist theories will crumble into dust. So they will tell you only half truths, which are more dangerous than lies.

I would recommend to anyone to take one Vedic hymn and see what each and every foreign, non Hindu “scholar” interprets it. I have been doing it for forty years and enjoying the Best Jokes. I would recommend in particular the book “Minor Vedic Deities”. The author (J R Joshi) has listed beautifully well the interpretations of all the western “scholars” for every minor deity. They will leave you in utter confusion. If their interpretations don’t fit their concocted theories, they will interpret them as natural phenomena!!!

Tamils are the people who fought among themselves for 1500 years without stoppage. Chera, Choza and Pandya, the three Tamil Kings killed each other and destroyed their forts. But nobody inserted any racist theories among the three. Foreigners, particularly, Christian missionaries, thought they could easily fool them because of their dark skin and convert them. But Tamils disappointed them! The lesson is: Not all the fights are racist; not all the wars are racist. They simply fought to show they were “heroic”. Those who read Sangam Tamil literature (Purananuru) will understand this.

Indra killed Dhuni, Chumuri (RV 6-20).
Indra killed Tugra and Vetasu; He killed 100,000 people; killed Shambara on the mountains (RV 6-26)
Indra killed Chumuri and 60,000 enemies (RV 6-26)
Indra killed Kulitara’s son Shambara and crushed 100,000 varcins (RV 4-30)
Indra killed 10,000 Vritra (RV 1-53)
Indra killed 150 soldiers (RV 1-133)

Indra killed Arna, Chitraratha on the banks of Sarayu (RV 4-30)
Indra broke the mountain to release the captivated water (RV 2-11)
Indra found out Shambara after 40 years in the mountain hide-outs (RV 2-11)
Indra killed Vala, Brahmin Vritra and Demon Ahi who captivated the waters (RV 2-11)

தமிழ் தலைவன் யார்? கம்பன் பதில்

தமிழ் தலைவன் யார் என்று தமிழ் கூறு நல்லுலகில் ஒரு ‘சர்வே’ நடத்தினால், சிறை சென்ற தியாகிகள் பட்டியல், மறியல் போராட்ட தியாகிகள் பட்டியல், அரசியல் தலைவர்கள் பட்டியல், ஏ.கே. 47 துப்பாக்கி சுழற்றியோர் பட்டியல், ரயில் பாதையில் படுத்துப் போராட்டம் செய்தோர் பட்டியல் என்று ஆயிரம் ஆயிரம் பேர் கொண்ட பட்டியல் வந்து நம்மைத் திக்கு முக்காடச் செய்து விடும்!

கம்பனிடம் போய் ஒருவர் இதே கேள்வியைக் கேட்டார். அவர் நாலே வரிகளில் தெளிவான பதில் கொடுத்து நம் குழப்பத்தை எல்லாம் போக்கிவிட்டார்.

பொருள்: அலைகளை உடைய ஆறுகளின் (கடலில் போய்ச்சேரும்) நீரைக் குடித்தலாலும், பூமியைச் சம நிலையில் நிறுத்தியதாலும், போகும் வழியில் நீட்டிக் கொண்டிருந்த மலையை பூமிக்குள் அழுத்தியதாலும் பரதனின் படைகள் தமிழ்த் தலைவனான அகத்தியன் செய்த செயல்களைப் போல இருந்தது. அதாவது அகத்தியர் செய்த செயல்களும் பரதன் படைகள் செய்த செயலும் ஒரே மாதிரியாக இருந்தன.

அகத்தியர் என்ன செய்தார்?

அகத்தியர் கடலைக் குடித்தார்: அதாவது வங்கக் கடல் வழியாக பாண்டியனின் படைகளை வழி நடத்திச் சென்று வியட் நாம், கம்போடியா, லாவோஸ், தாய்லாந்து, இந்தோநேசியா, மலேசியா, சிங்கப்பூர் ஆகிய இடங்களில் இந்துப் பண்பாட்டைப் பரப்பினார். இதைக் “கடலைக் குடித்தார்” என்று அழகாகாகச் சொல்லுவர். அகத்தியர் கடலைக் குடித்தாரா? என்ற ஆங்கிலக் கட்டுரையிலும், பிரம்மாஸ்திரா—ஒரு அணுசக்தி ஆயுதமா? என்ற ஆங்கிலக் கட்டுரையிலும் இதை விரிவாகக் கொடுத்துவிட்டேன்.

அகத்தியர் பூமியை சமநிலைப்படுத்தினார்: இது திருவிளையாடல் புராணத்தில் உள்ள கதை. மக்கட் தொகைப் பெருக்கம் காரணமாக அகத்தியன் தலைமையில் 18 குடிகளை சிவ பெருமான் தெற்கே அனுப்பிவைத்தார். “உலகின் முதல் மக்கட் தொகைப் பெருக்கப் பிரச்னை”– என்ற ஆங்கிலக் கட்டுரையில் இதை விரிவாகக் கொடுத்துவிட்டேன்.

விந்திய மலையை மட்டம் தட்டினார்:- அகத்தியர் தென்னாட்டிற்கு வருவதற்கு முன், மக்கள் அனைவரும் கடலோரமாக நடந்தோ, படகுகளிலோ தென்னாட்டு நகரங்களுக்கு வந்து சென்றனர். காரணம் இல்வலன், வாதாபி போன்ற, நர மாமிசம் சாப்பிடும் பயங்கரக் காட்டுவாசிகளும் காட்டு மிருகங்களும் மக்களை அச்சுறுத்தி வந்தன. அகத்தியர் தவ வலிமை பெற்றதால் தைரியமாக 18 குடி மக்களை, துவாரகை நகரில் இருந்து, விந்திய மலையின் நடுவிலுள்ள அடர்ந்த காடுகள் வழியே அழைத்து வந்தார். அன்றுமுதல் இன்று வரை நாம் அந்தப் பாதையைப் பயன்படுத்தி வருகிறோம். இதையே “மண் உற அழுத்தலால்” என்று குறிப்பிடுகிறார். புராணங்கள் கத்தியர் விந்திய மலையின் கர்வத்தைப் பங்கம் செய்தார் என்று அழகாகக் கூறுகின்றன. “பழங்கால இந்தியாவின் புகழ்மிகு எஞ்சினீயர்கள்”– என்ற கட்டுரையில் இது பற்றி ஏற்கனவே விரிவாக எழுதி விட்டேன்.

இத்தகைய அரிய பெரிய செயல்களைச் செய்து இந்திய பூகோள புத்தகத்தில் அழியா இடம் பெற்ற அகத்தியனை, தமிழ்த் தலைவன் என்று கம்பன் அழைத்ததை எல்லோரும் ஏற்பர் என்பதில் இரு வேறு கருத்துக்கு இடமும் உண்டோ?

பொருள்: அகத்தியன் கடல் நீரை எல்லாம் குடித்து வயிற்றில் அடக்கிக் கொண்ட பின்னர், எப்படிக் கடல் வெறிச்சோடிக் கிடந்ததோ அப்படி இருந்தது அயோத்தி மா நகரம். ஏனெனில் பெரியோர் முதல் சிறியோர் வரை அறிஞர்களும், படைகளும் சீதையும் நீங்கிவிட்டனர்.

இனி தமிழ்த் தலைவன் யார் என்பது எல்லோருக்கும் தெரிந்துவிட்டது. அரசியல்வாதிகள் ஓடி ஒளிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டியதுதான்!!

I have given my answers below:

Qestion1.What is the difference between Panini grammar and Tolkappiyam Grammar?

Answer: I am not an expert on Paninian Grammar. My Sanskrit knowledge is limited. I have passed five Sanskrit Examinations and Five Bhagavad Gita exams conducted by the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai. When I was a school boy I passed all the five Sanskrit exams conducted by Chittoor Samskrutha Bhasa Pracharini Sabha. I can claim some authority on Sangam Tamil literature. I have read the 27,000+ lines four times. It will take 2 years if you devote some time every day to complete one round. I have read Post Sangam books and Valmiki and Kamba Ramayanam and all the Saivite and Vaishnavite scriptures only once. With my limited knowledge I answer your questions:

Paninian grammar was written around 7th century BCE. Tolkappiyam was written around 1st century BCE or CE. My estimate is 5th century CE in the present form. I have given the reasons for it in my five articles in English and Tamil on Tolkappim and the author Tolkappian. If you hold the word index of Sangam Books and Post Sangam works in your hand, you can see lot of Tolkappian words are found only in Post Sangam Tamil literature. That is why no Tamil scholar dares to compare them.

Porulathikaram of Tolkappiyam is a later addition according to many scholars. My opinion is all the three Adikarams belong to fifth century CE. In short there is a 1000 year gap between Tolkappiyam and Panini.

Wikipedia also listed the name of the authors and their dating.

Paninian Grammar is far superior to Tolkappiam in structure and construction. (If I remember correct Kamil Zvelebil mentioned something like that in his book The Smile of Murugan).

Q2. Do Panini’s grammar has all three viz Sollathigaram. Porul adhikaram and Ezhuththu adhikaram?

Answer : Panini’s Ashtadyayi (Eight Chapters) is not divided in that way. In short there is no Porul Adhikaram which is unique to Tolkappiam. Patanjali’s Mahabhasya gives lot of examples in the commentary on Panini. So we come to know more about Panni’s India. Please read the book “India in Panini”. I borrowed it from University of London (SOAS) Library. A very interesting book.

Sol (Syntax) and Ezuthu (Alphabet, formation of Words) are dealt with by Panini, in addition to several other topics.

Q3. What is the difference between Vedic language and classical Sanskrit?

Answer : The difference between the Vedic Sanskrit (1500 BCE) and the classical Sanskrit ( from 3rd Century BCE) is the difference between the Sangam Tamil ( First Century BCE to 3rd Century CE) and Modern Tamil (18th Century CE). Without Tamil commentaries we would not understand the Sangam Tamil literature, particularly the iraichi porul (hidden meaning, implied meaning etc). There was no present, past, future tenses in Sangam Tamil. Vaiyapuri Pillay has given lot of examples about the development in Tamil Grammar when he dated Tirukkural and Tolkappiam. Please read Vaiyapuri Pillay’s works.

The natural law is “CHANGE IS INEVITABLE. EVERYTHING MUST CHANGE. NOTHING CAN REMAIN STATIC in THE UNIVERSE”. Whether it is Nataraja’s dance, or the simplest Hydrogen atom or the Universe or my wife’s blouse or our food habits everything is changing/moving.

A language changes every two hundred miles and every two hundred years. This is the thumb rule used by Max Muller for dating the Vedas.

Q4. While I understand Sanskrit words are in Tamil and Tamil words are in Sanskrit, how Sanskrit was considered as Deva basha and Tamil as common man language

Answer : You don’t need to worry much about this nomenclature. It is very simple. All the ancient Hindu scriptures are in Sanskrit. So people may call it a Divine language. No one said that Tamil is not a divine Bhasa. Kanchi Paramacharya says Tamil has more devotional hymns than Sanskrit, which is correct. The word “divine” is used for the Tamil language by many poets. I have given it in my blog.

Patanjali called Panini ‘Bhagavan Panini’ (divine Panini). Kamban called Valmiki ‘Divine Valmiki ( Deiva Maa Kavi)’. Valluvar is called ‘Deiva Pulavar’ in Tiruvalluva Malai. Homer is called ‘Divine Homer’ in Greek. I will call Subramanya Bharati a ‘Divine Poet’.

Regarding Tamil words in Sanskrit:

No language is pure in the world. Our forefathers were NOT language fanatics. They freely used Sanskrit words in Sangam literature and later Tirukkural. In the same way Tamil words are in later classical Sanskrit. But I doubt about it in Vedic Sanskrit. I have shown that even great linguists like Suneet Kumar Chatterji are wrong to claim that ‘Neer’ (water) in Rig Veda is Tamil. I have shown that it is in the oldest Greek mythology (Nereids=Water Nymphs). When a word is found in other Indo European languages it is not counted as Dravidian even in etymological dictionaries. But old linguists misled many others and so ‘Neer’ is shown as Dravidian. I have also shown that Kapi, Tuki in the Bible are Sanskrit words. Please read my article “Sanskrit in The Bible”.

In this context, my pet theory is Tamil and Sanskrit originated from a common source on the Indian soil. This is what saints like Paranjothy Munivar and others believed 300 years ago. If we believe our Puranas and Tamil commentators, we accept that Agastya from the north came to South India and codified grammar for Tamil. He was sent by Shiva to balance the population (Please read my article “Population Explosion: Oldest Reference is in Hindu Scriptures”; posted on 2nd February 2013). Naturally Agastya would have done it on the basis of Sanskrit grammar. But even Shiva accepted Tamil as a separate language and entrusted the grammar work to great Agastya. Even Lord Shiva recognised the greatness and uniqueness of Tamil. Do we need any other certificate?

Q.5. Yet the literature in Sanskrit or other classical languages are equally comparable with Tamil literatures in richness and depth of literacy.

Answer : Tamil is one of the richest languages in the world. My opinion is that it will come next to Sanskrit and Greek in the quantity and quality of the literature. Then only Hebrew, Chinese and Latin will come. But among these languages Tamil is the junior most language except Latin. But Sanskrit literature is enormous like an ocean. No one has listed all the books in Sanskrit. In Tamil we have listed all the lost and available books. It will come in a handy book. But if you just compile the names of the Sanskrit books only, it will come in several volumes. In Tamil we have not got anything before 1st century BCE. But Sanskrit had a huge, very huge literature even before Homer started writing his first book in Greek language. Around that time, we had great women philosophers Maitreyi and Gargi attending World Philosophers Conference in Mithila. Even before Moses issued Ten Commandments all those Ten Commandments were in the Vedas.

Q.6. Even though Kalidasa is controversial, why you are not providing constructive arguments for the Tamil poets antiquity?

Answer : Date of Kalidasa is not controversial. Though it is debatable, great art historians like Sivaramamurthy and several foreign and Indian scholars have dated him in the Pre Christian Era. Reverend G.U. Pope dated him Pre Kabila as soon as he read Kurinjipattu.

Though we date the Tamil poets around first century CE references in Mahavamsa, Mahabharata, Ramayana, Kalidasa and Asoka’s epigraph show that the Tamils existed long before the Sangam Period. I have written the following articles about Tamil antiquity in this blog:

இந்திரன் பற்றிய அதிசய விஷயங்கள்:–
உலகிலேயே அதிகமாகப் பாடப்பட்ட பழங்காலக் கடவுள் அல்லது வீரன் இந்திரன் தான். ஜில்காமேஷ், ஹெர்குலீஸ் போன்றவர்களை விட மிக அதிகமாகப் போற்றப்பட்டவன். அவர்களைவிட அதிகமான சாதனைகளைப் புரிந்தவன். உலகில் மிகப் பழமையான சமய நூல் ரிக் வேதம். அதில் 250 பாடல்கள் இந்திரனைப் பற்றியவை. மேலும் 50 பாடல்களில் அவன் மற்ற கடவுள்களுடன் பாடப்படுகிறான். அதாவது ரிக் வேதத்தில் நான்கில் ஒரு பகுதி!!!

இந்திரன் என்பது ஒரு வரலாற்று நாயகனின் பெயர். இந்திரன் என்பது ஒரு பதவியின் பெயரும் ஆகும்: அதாவது பிரதமர், ஜனாதிபதி, தலாய் லாமா, போப்பாண்டவர், சங்கராச்சார்யார் என்பது போல. இது தெரியாமல் வெள்ளைக்கார “அறிஞர்கள்” உளறிக்கொட்டி கிளறி மூடி இருக்கிறார்கள். வெளிநாட்டுக் காரர் எழுதியவற்றைப் படிக்காமல் இந்திய சாது சந்யாசிகள் எழுதியதை முதலில் படித்தால் இந்தக் குழப்பங்கள் வராது. உலகில் மிகப் பழமையான கடவுள் இந்திரந்தான். துருக்கி நாட்டில் பொகஸ்கோய் கிராமத்தில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட களிமண் கல்வெட்டுகளில் இந்திரன் பெயர் (கி.மு.1400) இருக்கிறது!! இதற்கு முன்னமேயே அவன் இந்தியாவில் வழிபடப்பட்டான். பாரசீக ஜொராஸ்டர் எழுதிய ஜெண்டு அவஸ்தாவில் சில இடங்களில் இந்திரன் பெயர் உண்டு.

இதைவிட மிக அதிசயமான விஷயம் சுமேரிய, பாபிலோனிய, எகிப்திய, கிரேக்க, ரோமானிய தெய்வங்கள் எல்லாம் செத்துப்போய் மியூசியங்களில் முடங்கிவிட்டன. ஆனால் இந்திரனோ வேத முழக்கம் கேட்கும் இடங்களில் எல்லாம் இன்றும்—குறிப்பாக கோவில்களிலும், பிராமணர் வீடுகளிலும்—தினமும் வழிபடப்படுகிறான். பிராமணர்கள் செய்யும் சந்தியாவந்தனம் என்னும் அந்திப்பொழுது பிரார்த்தனையில் இந்திரன் வழிபாடு தினமும் வருகிறது.

“வேதம் என்றும் வாழ்க என்று கொட்டு முரசே”– (சுப்ரமண்ய பாரதி)!!!!

இந்தியாவிற்கும் அமெரிக்காவிற்கும் இடையே ஒரு ஆன்மீக உறவை ஏற்படுத்தியவர் சுவாமி விவேகானந்தர். தனது அமெரிக்க உறவை அனைவரும் அதிசயிக்கத்தக்க வித்த்தில் நினைவு கூறும் விதமாக அமெரிக்க சுதந்திர தினமான ஜூலை நான்காம் தேதியன்று சமாதி அடைந்தார் அவர். அவரின் நினைவுக்கு அஞ்சலி செய்து போற்றித் துதிக்கும் கட்டுரை இது!

இந்தியாவைப் பற்றி அறிய விவேகானந்தரைப் படியுங்கள்!

அமெரிக்க சகோதரிகளே! சகோதரர்களே! (Sisters and brothers of America!) என்ற சில சொற்களினாலேயே அமெரிக்கா முழுவதையும் தன் அன்பு வளையத்துக்கு ஆட்படுத்திய பெரும் அதிசய புருஷர் சுவாமி விவேகானந்தர்.

இந்தியாவைப் பற்றி அறிய வேண்டுமென்றால் சுவாமி விவேகானந்தரைப் படி என்றார் வங்கக் கவிஞர் ரவீந்திரநாத் தாகூர். இந்தியப் பண்பாட்டின் கருவூலமாக, பாரதத்தின் ஆன்மீக சக்தியின் நடமாடும் திரு உருவாக அவதரித்தவர் சுவாமிஜி.

சூரியனுக்கே சான்றிதழா?!
அமெரிக்காவில் பிரபல பேராசிரியரான ஹென்றி ரைட் சுவாமிஜியுடன் அளவளாவிய சிறிது நேரத்திலேயே அவரது அறிவின் ஆழத்தைப் புரிந்து கொண்டு வியந்தார். போஸ்டனிலிருந்து 30 மைல் தொலைவில் இருந்த அன்னிக்ஸ்வாம் என்ற இடத்தில் அமைதியான இடத்தில் தம் இல்லத்தில் தங்கி இருந்த அவர் சுவாமிஜையைத் தன்னுடன் தங்குமாறு அழைத்தார். அந்த அழைப்பை ஏற்றுக் கொண்ட சுவாமிஜி அவருடன் இரு நாட்கள் கழித்தார். சர்வமத மஹாசபையில் நிச்சயம் சுவாமிஜி கலந்து கொள்ள வேண்டுமென்ற தன் எண்ணத்தை பேராசிரியர் ரைட் வெளிப்படுத்தினார்.

“அமெரிக்கா உங்களை அறிய வேண்டுமானால் அதைத் தவிர வேறு வழியில்லை” என்று ஆணித்தரமாக உரைத்த பேராசிரியரை நோக்கிய சுவாமிஜி,” அந்த சபையில் கலந்து கொள்வதற்கான அறிமுகக் கடிதமோ, சான்றிதழோ என்னிடம் இல்லையே! “ என்று தயங்கிவாறே கூறினார்
“உங்களுக்குச் சான்றிதழா?! சூரியன் பிரகாசிப்பதற்குச் சான்றிதழ் கேட்பது போல அல்லவா இருக்கும் அது!” என்றார் ரைட்

சூரிய ஒளிக்கே ஒரு சான்றிதழா! மின்மினிகள் அதைத் தர இயலுமா? என்பதை உணர்ந்த பெரும் மேதையாக இருந்தார் ரைட்.

பின்னர் நடந்த சம்பவங்கள் அனைவரும் அறிந்ததே. சுவாமிஜி 1893 ஆம்
செப்டம்பர் 11ஆம் தேதி சர்வமத மகாசபையில் கலந்து கொண்டார். இந்தியாவின் ஆன்மீக சக்தியை உலகெங்கும் அறியச் செய்து உலகப் புகழ் பெற்றார்.

அமெரிக்கர்கள் வியந்த அதிசய புருஷர்!

பிரபல பகுத்தறிவுவாதியும் சொற்பொழிவாளருமான இங்கர்சால் சுவாமிஜியைச் சந்தித்து வியந்து போனார்.

“ஒரு ஆரஞ்சுப் பழத்தின் சாறைப் பருக விரும்புகிறேன். அதில் என்ன தவறு?” என்று உலோகாயத நோக்கில் அனைத்தையும் அனுபவிப்பதில் என்ன தவறு என்று பூடகமாக்க் கேட்ட இங்கர்சாலை நோக்கிப் புன்முறுவல் பூத்த சுவாமிஜி,” அதில் தவறு ஒன்றுமில்லை. ஆனால் கடைசிச் சொட்டு சாறு வரை முழுவதுமாக அருந்த வேண்டும் என்கிறேன் நான்!” என்றார். வேதாந்தம் மூலம் அனைத்தையும் அறிந்து சுவைக்க முடியும் என்ற அவரின் அறிவுரையைக் கேட்ட இங்கர்சால் பெரிதும் மனம் மகிழ்ந்து சுவாமிஜியை மிகவும் ஜாக்கிரதையாக இருக்குமாறு வேண்டிக் கொண்டார். அவரது பரந்த மனத்தையும் நோக்கையும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளும் பக்குவம் அங்குள்ள மதவாதிகளுக்கு இல்லை என்பது இங்கர்சாலின் கருத்து.

பிரபல தொழிலதிபர் ராக்பெல்லர் சுவாமிஜியைச் சந்தித்தார். சில நிமிடங்களே நீடித்த அந்த சந்திப்பில் அவரை அறக்கட்டளை ஆரம்பிக்குமாறு உத்வேகம் ஊட்டினார் சுவாமிஜி. அவர் வாழ்க்கையே மாறிப் போனது.

எகிப்து, சீனா, பிரான்ஸ், அமெரிக்கா, இங்கிலாந்து உள்ளிட்ட உலகின் பல்வேறு நாடுகளுக்கு சுவாமிஜி விஜயம் செய்த போதிலும் அமெரிக்காவின் மீது அவர் கொண்டுள்ள பாசம் எழுத்தில் வர்ணிக்க முடியாதது.

39 வயதிலேயே பிரம்மாண்டமான சாதனையை உலக அரங்கில் நிறைவேற்றி முடித்த சுவாமிஜி தான் வந்த “காரியம்” முடிந்து விட்டதென்று எண்ணி விட்டார் போலும்.
1906ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை மாதம் இரண்டாம் தேதி ஏகாதசி தினம். அன்று அவர் விரதம் இருந்தார். மார்கரெட் எலிசபத் நோபிளாக இங்கிலாந்தில் பிறந்து சுவாமிஜியின் கருணை நோக்கினால் சகோதரி நிவேதிதையாக மாறிய ஆன்மீகச் செல்வி அங்கு வந்த போது சுவாமிஜி அவருக்கு உணவு வகைகளைப் பரிமாறி சாப்பிடுமாறு உபசரித்தார். சாப்பிட்டு முடித்தவுடன் கை கழுவ தாமே நீர் வார்த்தார். “சுவாமிஜி, இதை நான் அல்லவா உங்களுக்குச் செய்ய வேண்டும்” என்று நெஞ்சுருக நிவேதிதை கூற, “ ஏன் ஏசுநாதர் தன் சீடர்களின் கால்களையே கழுவி விட்டாரே!” என்று அவர் பதில் அளித்தார்.

“ஆனால், அது. அது.. அவரின் கடைசி தினமாயிற்றே..!!” தொண்டையில் சிக்கித் திணறிய வார்த்தைகள் நிவேதிதையின் வாய்க்கு வரவில்லை.
அதற்குச் சில நாட்களுக்கு முன்பே சுவாமிஜி பஞ்சாங்கம் ஒன்றைக் கொண்டு வரச் சொல்லி நாளைப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்.

அது எதற்கு என்று யாருக்கும் தெரியாது.
தன் யாத்திரையின், அவதார தினத்தின் இறுதி நாளை அவர் தேர்ந்தெடுத்திருந்தார். அது ஜூலை நான்காம் தேதி.

அமெரிக்காவிற்கும் தனக்கு உள்ள ஆன்மிகத் தொடர்பின் அழியாத முத்திரையைப் பதிக்க விரும்பிய வீரத் துறவி தேர்ந்தெடுத்த தினம் அமெரிக்க சுதந்திர தினப் பொன்னாள். என்று வரை அமெரிக்கர்கள் அந்தப் பொன்னாளில் சுதந்திர தினம் கொண்டாடுகிறார்களோ அன்று வரை அவரின் நினைவும் அதில் பூரணமாக்க் கலந்திருக்கும்.

அன்று இரவு சுமார் ஒன்பது மணி அளவில் யோக மார்க்கம் மூலமாக சிரசின் வழியே தன் உயிரைத் துறந்து பர வெளியுடன் கலந்தார் சுவாமிஜி.

எழுமின் விழிமின்

எழுமின் விழிமின் குறிக்கோளை அடையும் வரை தளராது செல்மின் என்ற கடோபநிஷத்தின் வாக்கியத்தை லட்சியமாகக் கொடுத்து ‘அனைவருக்கும் முக்தி’ என்ற லட்சியத்தை உலக மக்களின் முன் வைத்தார் சுவாமிஜி.

“உலக மாந்தர் அனைவரும் முக்தி அடைய உதவுவதற்காக எத்தனை முறை வேண்டுமானாலும் நான் பூமியில் பிறக்கத் தயார்” என்று அறிவித்த அவரது அமிர்த வாக்கியம் மனிதர்களின் உள்ளங்களை எல்லாம் பூரிக்க வைக்கும் கருணை வெள்ளத்தின் அடையாளம் அல்லவா!

சுவாமிஜியின் நினைவை அனுதினமும் போற்றி அவர் காட்டிய வழியில் நடப்போம்! உயர்வோம்!! உய்வோம்!!!

I received the following message by email:-

Letter from PJ

Hi sir,

I am 17 year old kid from a Tamil family,
I was born in ‘K’near Nagapattinam, I moved to France when I was 13.
I was brought up in a typical Tamil-Hindu family, but I was never taught any religious books.

I love Hinduism so I wanted to learn more about it.

So I did some research in the web and I ended up getting confused.
I came across your blogs and read some of your blogs and biography. I don’t know why, I got a feeling that you would answer all my doubts.

In the web I came across those so called Aryan migration theory and out of India theory and I don’t believe Aryan migration and for me out the India theory make more sense.

My questions are:

Q1).Are Tamil people really Hindus ?

My answer: In today’s world 80 to 90 % of Tamils are Hindus. They live traditionally in Tamil Nadu (India), Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, Mauritius, Seychelles, Fiji, Guyana and for the past thirty years in almost all the countries from North Pole (Norway, Sweden) to South Pole (New Zealand and Australia) because of Sri Lankan ethnic conflict. France has a good population of Tamils from the French ruled territories of Tamil Nadu and from Sri Lanka.
Ancient Tamils were Hindus. Sangam Tamil literature has innumerable references to Hindu Gods, Yaga, Yajna (Fire sacrifices), Vedas, Karma theory, Rebirth, Cremation, Beliefs about 40 Samskaras of the Hindus, Yama and Death, Brahmins, Caste System, Wedding ceremonies and Astrology. I have published over 1000 posts in these blogs in Tamil and English quoting references from the Tamil and Sanskrit literature.

If anyone visits Tamil Nadu and see all the 38,000 temples under the HRCE Department OR read the 27,000+ lines of the Sangam Tamil Literature or the 18,000 Saivite Poems of the Nayanmars and 4000 Vaishnavite poems of the Alvars, their doubts will be cleared.

Sage Agastya is associated with Tamil or Tamil country in ancient Tamil literature and Kalidasa’s works.

Q2). Why are Vedas and Bhagavad-Gita written in Sanskrit ?

Jesus spoke in Hebrew, Mohammed spoke in Arabic, Krishna spoke in Sanskrit, Sambandar spoke in Tamil and Zoroaster spoke in Persian; but the message they delivered is universal love and faith in God. Tomorrow one more saint may come to spread the same message in Esperanto or a language newly developed. What difference a language can make? Tongues may be different but the hearts are one.

God understands all the languages and even the sign language of the deaf and dumb. Lord Shiva invented a new language called SILENCE. He did preach for the four great saints through silence in his Dakshinamurthy form under the Banyan tree. In our own times Ramana Maharishi did this. If you read “The Search in Secret India” by Paul Brunton, you will understand it.

Q3). What is the link between Tamil and Sanskrit ?

Foreign “Scholars” spread a theory about two different language groups -Dravidian and Aryan- which is not correct. It is true that both the languages are different. But Sanskrit is the closest language to Tamil. No other language in the world can come closer to Tamil than Sanskrit. It is not because of geographical proximity. I mean structurally they are closer than other languages. It is a big topic and only linguists can understand. An old poem of Paranjothy Munivar says that Shiva was the one who taught both the languages. Hindus believe that all the languages in India came from Lord Shiva. Both the Tamil and Sanskrit commentators have written so.

Now and then I read that ‘Tamil is closer to Sumerian’, ‘Tamil is connected to Finnish’, ‘Tamil has link with Japanese’ and I used to laugh at the ignorance of those “scholars”. The latest language theory is that you can find similar words between any two languages in the world. When I was working for the BBC WORLD SERVICE between 1987 and 1992, I interviewed Mr.Sathur Sekaran who wrote 140 books connecting Tamil language with all the languages in the world. When I interviewed him on behalf of the BBC Tamil Service (Tamilosai), I politely pointed out the fallacies in his argument. In short I can show similarities, at least superficial/morphological, between any two languages in the world. This is because we all lived under one roof at one time. The tower of Babel story in the Bible is partly true. We have similar stories in the Hindu scriptures in the Yajur Veda.

With regard to Tamil, no one in the present world can speak pure Tamil without Sanskrit. If you ask the names of one’s father, mother, native place, Deities, everything will be in Sanskrit. Even the people who spearheaded Dravidian movements had only Sanskrit names! I have pointed out Tamils have no words for some common words like ‘heart’ and ‘Face’. I have also pointed out that if anyone dares to remove the poems written by Brahmins or references to Brahmins, and all that is Hindu, there wouldn’t be anything left in Sangam Tamil literature. A lot of Sangam Tamil poets have Sanskrit names such as Kesavan, Damodaran, Valmiki, Brahma, Kapila, Parana,Kamakshi, Vishnu Dasan, Kanna dasan. Please read my article “No Brahmins! Q4). When I was small I thought Tamil was derived from Sanskrit but now they say both are different?

A)I have answered this question already. Please see above.
In an island like New Guiea we have over 750 languages. How and Why? If it can happen in an island, in a vast country like India with different climatic conditions, flora and fauna and 4000 year long history, naturally languages will branch out forming new dialects, leading to newer languages. During Sangam period there was no Malayalam in Kerala. Telugu and Kannada had more Tamilized forms at that time. Now we can’t understand one another; why? The natural law is “Change is inevitable. Everything must change”. Tamil won’t be the same after two hundred years. Tamil that which my great grandfather used is not the language I use today.

Q5). I can understand that India is a land of diversity. I keep wondering why some are really white, we should all be brown due to our climate? ( I am brown and I’m proud to be one)

A)This colour of the skin is the one which foreign scholars used to deceive the native people. People who lived in the north had fairer colours because of the cold climate. I also used to wonder how come we changed to brown colour from the African black and how come the white people became white from the African black. The scientific theory is that we all evolved from the Monkeys/Apes in Africa. Scientists say that Mankind originated in Africa. We were only black at that stage. How come one section became white and another remained black. How long would it take for a black race to become white race? How come there are still black and brown animals and birds even in the cold countries where as the people are all white?

One person told me it was albinos that produced the white race. I expect a better answer from the scientists/biologists.

Regarding the racist theory:

My theory is that Indians went to different parts of the world taking their culture. Foreign “scholars” arbitrarily fixed the meaning of words (e.g ayas=iron), dates for iron and horse, language groups according to their whims and fancies, interpretations as per their imagination etc. Everything can be changed topsy-turvy (ulta) and can be proved right. The Word ‘Dravidian’ did not exist during Vedic period. The world ‘Aryan’ was used with the meaning of ‘cultured, civilized’ and not with any racial connotation. Foreigners deliberately used it with a racial meaning to confuse the Hindus and destroy their identity.

Q6). I can also understand that Hinduism has more holy books, unlike other religions, but is there any holy book of the Tamil s?

A)Holy Books for the Tamils are Thevaram/Tiruvasagam and Divya Prabandham. Even the authors who composed over 14,000 poems said that they are giving the Vedas in Tamil!!!

Even the atheists accept Tirukkural written by Tiruvalluvar. There can’t be a purer Hindu than Tiruvalluvar. Please read two volumes of English commentary of Tirukkural by Dr S M Diaz, I.P.S.,Ph.D

7. Why is the Five great epics of Sangam period written by the Jains and Buddhists ?

A)Five Tamil Epics do not belong to Sangam Period; they belong to post Sangam period, may be from 5th century CE to 10th Century CE. We did not get two of the five epics in full. Of the five Tamil epics, Manimegalai is purely Buddhist and Seevaka Chintamani is of the Jains. Silappadikaram, the most popular of the five, is like a Hindu Encyclopaedia. It praised Hindu Gods more than anything else. It is true Jainism is praised by the author. If I have only Tamil books, I will teach Hinduism through this epic than any other book. No rationalist or atheist will touch this book because it is full of “Superstitious Hindu Beliefs”!!!

Q8). Who is Thiruvalluvar ?
I have written under the topic “Who was Tiruvalluvar?” in this blog on24 July 2013. Please read it.

In short, the greatest Tamil Hindu that post Sangam period (fifth century CE) produced was Tiruvalluvar. Even if all the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana and Mahabharata disappear tomorrow, TIRUKKURAL is enough to teach Hinduism. Hindus only can follow the vegetarianism, penance (Tavam=Tapas), Pancha Yajna etc preached in this book. No Muslim, No Christian will be able to follow this. The very structure of the book is Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha (Arathu pal, Porutpal and Inpathu Pal; Moksha is discussed in chapters like Tavam etc.in the Arathu Pal)

Q9). To make it more confusing THE CASTE SYSTEM: why was that created? I mean “we all are equal”.

A)In ancient India, it started as ‘division of labour’. Slowly it changed into ‘castes by birth’ system. It divided and sub divided in to hundreds and thousands of castes. Who made it? It is not in any Hindu scripture ( I mean the sub sub sub sub castes). Unless every one touches his heart and say that I would not follow it, it won’t go away. There are two movements in India, RSS and Communist party, where it is practised less.

The equality can be brought only by great people who preach religion. When people aim for higher things in life these petty differences will melt away. We saw it happening in big movements like Satya Sai Baba and Sri Ramakrishna missions.

In no part of the world at any one point of time in History, everyone was treated equal. This has been only in letters, not in spirit. People are talking about an idealistic society where they expected no discrimination against anyone. In the United States, different states have different laws!! If it can happen in one country in our own time, imagine what could have happened in Greece and Rome, Egypt and Babylonia two thousand years ago. Being a Gay or a Lesbian was immoral and illegal in all parts of the world. Now a man can marry a man in some parts of the world and can have all family benefits!! MPs and Prime Ministers, Presidents and Queens (like British queen) are not like you and me!! Some are more equal than others!

I have an MA in history. All the ancient societies had big, big discriminations. I am not justifying caste discriminations. But no politician in India will do away with the caste system. No backward caste or scheduled caste will relinquish their status for the next 100 years! They thrive on this. Go to a backward class man or a scheduled caste woman and preach your equality theory. They will look at you as if you have landed from planet Mars!!

Q10). And finally, is it true that Vedas permit eating meat and it only based on nature.

Yes. It is true. They ate meat on certain occasions. If you believe that part of the Vedas and that part of the Puranas, you must believe in everything that they say. They narrate thousands of miracles and you must believe them. Just because some non Hindus or atheists do some propaganda you don’t need to deny or accept it. Take it (the scriptures) as a whole and weigh it. Read more speeches by Swami Vivekananda or Sayings of Sri Ramakrishna or Bhagavad Gita Tamil commentary or Tiruvasagam commentary by Swami Chidbhavannabda. You would not even have asked these questions.

Poor and ignorant Hindus never read anything that is Hindu, but trained only to ask questions. I don’t blame you. This is the trend with the Hindus. It is true we have hundreds of holy books unlike other religions. But read at least ONE BOOK in full and stick to it. Even if you read only Tirukkural and follow it you will be the greatest Hindu.

Q). I like Vallalar and Bharathiar a lot and what they say about Hinduism (Santana dharma); why is Murugan and many gods worshiped only by us?

A)If you read Vallalar that is more than enough; He has given the essence of Hinduism. I have already given all the important poems by Vallalar.
If you read Bharatiyar, that is more than enough. He has given the Vedic thoughts in beautiful Tamil poems. Ilango, Vallalar, Valluvar and Bharatiyar are True Tamil Hindus.

Murugan and other Hindu gods are different aspects of ONE GOD. Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa says, ‘same gold is used to make different ornaments’ (Every time my wife enters a jewellery shop she admires the beauty of each and everything and urges me to buy one for her! Even if I buy the whole shop she wouldn’t be satisfied! In the same way Hindus have found out that they can enjoy more and more by having varieties).

Sri Ramkrishna says that ‘same sugar and flour are used to make different sweets’ ( Every time I go to India, I ask someone to buy halwa from Madurai Nagapattinam Ney Mittay shop or Tirunelveli Lala Halwa shop and I beg someone to buy Panneer Jhangry. Same flour, same sugar! Why do I long for such petty things? It is the sheer variety. Kalisada says ‘variety is the spice of life!’ Hindus have found out that people at different levels of spiritual progress can be slowly elevated to higher and higher state by various forms of deities, various rituals, festivals, foods and dress codes.)

Q)Sir,I love our religion I just want to know if we and our ancestors are really part of it or we got converted into it.

A)Kanchi Paramacharaya says that Hindusism is the only religion that has no founder, that has no name (word Hinduism is not in our scriptures). He says that it is the eternal religion (Sanatana Dharma). Its vestiges are found in all parts of the world.

Others were converted to newly founded religions such as Islam and Christianity. What happened to the grandfathers of Buddha, Jesus and Mohammed? Did they go to hell because the new religions were not there? Those who follow the oldest religion in the world still remain as Hindus. Santana Dharma is the oldest religion according to all the famous encyclopaedias.

I hope you will answer me and I will be grateful to you.

கடவுள் துகளை (God’s Particle OR Higgs Boson) முதலில் கண்ட பிரபல விஞ்ஞானி டாக்டர் பீட்டர் ஹிக்ஸை (Dr Peter Higgs) பிபிசி ரேடியோ இந்த ஆண்டு (2014) பிப்ரவரி 17ஆம் தேதி பேட்டி கண்டது.

நோபல் பரிசு பெற்ற ஹிக்ஸுக்கு வயது இப்போது 84. அவரை இரண்டு நிமிடங்களில் அதாவது 120 வினாடிகளில் (two minutes) கடவுள் துகளை விளக்க முடியுமா என்று பேட்டி கண்டவர் கேட்ட போது ‘களுக்’கென்று சிரித்த அவர் இரண்டே நிமிடங்களில் கடவுள் துகளை விளக்கினார். விளக்கி முடித்தவுடன் இதையே 30 வினாடிகளில் (Half minute) விளக்க முடியுமா என்று பேட்டியாளர் கேட்ட போது ‘முடியாது’ என்று உறுதியாகக் கூறி விட்டார்.

ஒரு பிரம்மாண்டமான விஷயத்தை 120 வினாடிகளில் அவர் விளக்கியதே ஆச்சரியம் தான்! அதை இன்னும் சுருக்கமாக எப்படி விளக்குவது?

கடவுளைப் பற்றிச் சொல்லும் போது, ‘கண்டவர் விண்டிலர்’, ‘விண்டவர் கண்டிலர்’ என்று சொல்வார்கள். ஆனால் கடவுள் துகளைக் கண்டு பிடித்தவரே அதை இரண்டு நிமிடங்களில் விண்டுரைத்து விட்டார்

கடவுள் துகளுக்கு ஏன் அந்தப் பெயர்?
கடவுள் துகள் (God’s Particle) என்பது தான் என்ன? ஏன் அதற்கு அந்தப் பெயர்? ஒரு இரண்டு நிமிட விளக்கத்தைப் பார்ப்போம்! இந்த பிரபஞ்சம் எப்படி உருவானது என்பது மனித குலம் வெகு காலமாகக் கேட்டு வரும் கேள்வி! ‘பிக் பேங்’ (Big Bang) என்னும் பெருவெடிப்பினால் பிரபஞ்சம் உருவானதாக விஞ்ஞானிகள் அனைவரும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளக் கூடிய கொள்கை ஒன்றை முன் வைத்தனர். பிரபஞ்சத்தின் ஸ்டாண்டர்ட் மாடல் ஒன்றையும் உருவாக்கினர். இந்த பிரபஞ்ச மாடல் 12 துகள்களையும் நான்கு விசைகளையும் அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்ட ஒன்று.

6 க்வார்க்குகள், 6 லேப்டான்கள் ஆக பன்னிரெண்டு துகள்களும் மின்காந்த விசை எனப்படும் எலக்ட்ரோ மாக்னெடிக் விசை, ஸ்ட்ராங் நியூக்ளியர் விசை, வீக் இன்டர் ஆக் ஷன் விசை, புவி ஈர்ப்பு விசை ஆக நான்கு விசைகளும் பிரபஞ்ச மாடலில் உள்ளன.

பெரு வெடிப்பு உண்டானவுடன் அணுக்கள் சிதறின. அப்போது அணுக்களுக்கு நிறை இல்லை. அணுவில் நியூட்ரானுக்கு நிறை இல்லை, ஆனால் புரோட்டானுக்கு இருக்கிறது. புரோட்டானுக்கு மட்டும் ஏன் நிறை இருக்கிறது? இதற்குக் காரணமாக ஒரு ஆற்றல் இருக்க வேண்டும். இந்த ஆற்றலைப் பெற ஹிக்ஸ்போஸன் என்ற நிலையைக் கடந்தாக வேண்டும்.

ஒரு புதிய ஆற்றலைத் தரும் இந்தப் பதிமூன்றாவது துகளையே மர்மத் துகள் என்று விஞ்ஞானிகள் கூற ஆரம்பித்தனர். கடவுள் போல இருப்பது உண்மை என்றாலும் நிரூபிப்பது கஷ்டமாக இருப்பதால் இதை கடவுள் துகள் என்று சொல்வதும் தவறல்ல.

இந்த கடவுள் துகள் என்ற சொற்றொடர் எப்படி வந்தது? லியான் லெடர்மேன் என்ற விஞ்ஞானி தான் முதன்முதலாக இந்தச் சொற்றொடரை உருவாக்கினார் இப்படி ஒரு துகள் உண்மையில் இருக்கிறதா, இல்லையா என்ற மர்மம் நீடித்து இருக்கவே எரிச்சலுடன் “GOD DAMN” என்று கூறி கடவுளுடன் நான்கு எழுத்து ஆங்கில ஆபாச வார்த்தையைப் பயன்படுத்தினார். திட்டியதோடு மட்டுமல்லாமல் தான் எழுதிய புத்தகத்திற்கும் இதே பெயரை வைத்தார். ஆனால் இதைக் கண்டு திடுக்கிட புத்தக வெளியீட்டாளர், கடவுளை நம்பும் பக்தர்கள் அனைவரின் மனமும் புண்படுமே என்று கூறி காட் பார்டிகிள் என்று தலைப்பை மாற்றினார். கடவுள் துகள் உருவானது.

செர்ன் ஆய்வுக்கூடம் (CERN Particle Physics Laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland)

பிரபஞ்சம் தோன்றி சுமார் 14 பில்லியன் அதாவது 1400 கோடி ஆண்டுகள் உருண்டோடி விட்டன. இப்போது அந்த நிலையை யார் உருவாக்குவது, எங்கு உருவாக்குவது!

இதற்கு பதிலை செர்ன் லாபரட்டரியும் அங்குள்ள விஞ்ஞானிகளும் தந்தனர். செர்ன் ஆய்வுக் கூடம் பிரான்ஸ், ஸ்விட்சர்லாந்து எல்லையை ஒட்டி உள்ள ஜெனிவா (Geneva) நகரில் உள்ள பிரம்மாண்டமான ஆய்வுக் கூடம். இங்கு 27 கிலோமீட்டர் நீளமுள்ள ஒரு விசேஷ குகை ஒன்றில் தான் புரோட்டானை புரோட்டானுடம் மோத விடும் அதிசய அபூர்வ சோதனைகள் நடந்து வருகின்றன. இங்குள்ள விசேஷ சாதனத்திற்கு லார்ஜ் ஹாட்ரான் கொலைடர் (Large Hadron Collider) என்று பெயர். பல கோடி டாலர் செலவில் இங்கு சோதனைகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டன. அமெரிக்காவே இந்த கடவுள் துகள் சோதனையை கை கழுவி விட்டு நழுவிய நிலையில் செர்ன் (CERN) மும்முரமாக இதில் இறங்கி 2012 ஜூலை மாதம் தான் கண்ட வெற்றியை உலகுக்குப் பறை சாற்றியது.

இதனால் நாம் வாழும் உலகில் ஏற்படப்போகும் மாறுதல்கள் கற்பனைக்கும் அப்பாற்பட்ட பிரம்மாண்டமானவையாக இருக்கப் போகின்றன. மின்சாரம் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட போது அதன் பலன் அவ்வளவாகத் தெரியவில்லை. ஆனால் இன்றோ மின்சாரம் இல்லாத வாழ்க்கையை நினைத்துக் கூடப் பார்க்க முடியவில்லை அல்லவா!

அது போல புவி ஈர்ப்பு விசை உள்ளிட்ட மர்மங்களுக்கு கடவுள் துகள் பதில் சொல்லும் அப்போது காலப் பயணம் உள்ளிட்ட பல அபூர்வங்களைச் சாதிக்க முடியும்.

அற்புத ஆற்றலைத் தரும் கடவுள் துகள்
கடவுள் துகளைக் கண்ட பிறகு தொடர்ந்த ஆராய்ச்சியில் இப்போதைய நிலை என்ன? பூமிக்கு ஒரு முடிவு உண்டு. அது பற்பல கோடி ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பின்னரே ஏற்படும் என்பதை கடவுள் துகள் சொல்கிறது.

அந்தப் பல கோடி ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னதாகவே அது தரும் அற்புதமான ஆற்றல்களை பூமி வாழ் மக்கள் அனுபவித்து மகிழ்வர் என்பதும் மெய்யாகப் போகிறது.

சுவையான தகவல்கள் அடங்கிய கடவுள் துகளின் பெருமை கடவுளின் பெருமை போல சொல்லில் அடங்காதது சொல்லவும் முடியாதது. இதன் பெருமை நாளுக்கு நாள் கடவுளின் புகழ் போலவே வளரும் என்பது மட்டும் உறுதியாக அனைவரும் நம்புகின்ற ஒரு உண்மை!

Indra is the greatest God and hero in the world. No other ancient literature has any one equal to him. The epithets he carries are too many. He is praised in 250 hymns in the oldest scripture in the world – Rig Veda. Apart from that he is mentioned in 50 more hymns along with other Vedic Gods. Neither Gilgamesh nor Hercules can beat him in his heroic deeds.

Moreover he is more ancient than other old heroes. He is mentioned in the Bogazkoy inscription in 1400 BC in Turkey (150 kms from Ankara). He was worshipped even before this date in India. He is mentioned a few times in Zend Avesta as well.

Indra is a historical figure as well as a title like Emperor,President Pope, Dalai Lama and Prime Minister. Indra is a godly figure to whom rain, thunder and lightning are attributed. One must be careful when one studies Hindu literature. If you avoid books written by “Foreign Non Hindu Scholars” and follow “ancient Hindu scholars” a lot of confusion can be avoided. You will get a better picture. You won’t find anything like concocted Aryan or Dravidian Racist theories in ancient writers or in books written by great Swamijis (Seers and Saints) of Modern India.

சூரியனுடைய சஞ்சாரம்

முன்னோர்கள் வானியல் நிபுணர்கள் என்பதை நிரூபிக்கும் ஏராளமான கருத்துக்கள் புராணங்களில் உள்ளன.
சூரியனுடைய சஞ்சாரம் பற்றி மத்ஸ்ய புராணம் கூறுவது இது:
உத்தராயணத்தில் 18 முகூர்த்தத்தில் 13 நக்ஷத்திரங்களின் இடையே சூரியன் சஞ்சரிக்கிறான். தக்ஷிணாயனத்தில் 12 முகூர்த்தத்தில் 13 ½ நக்ஷத்திர மண்டலங்களில் சூரியன் சஞ்சரிக்கிறான்
– மத்ஸ்ய புராணம்
–
மாசி, பங்குனி, சித்திரை,வைகாசி, ஆனி, ஆடி ஆகிய மாதங்களில் சூரியன் உத்தராயணத்தில் சஞ்சரிக்கிறான்.

ஆவணி,புரட்டாசி,ஐப்பசி,கார்த்திகை,மார்கழி, தை ஆகிய மாதங்களில் சூரியன் தக்ஷிணானயத்தில் சஞ்சரிக்கிறான்.
– வாயு புராணம்

பவித்ர நதிகள்
கங்கை, யமுனை, கோமதி, சரயு, சரஸ்வதி, சந்த்ரபாகா,சர்மண்யவதி ஆகிய நதிகள் பவித்ரமான புண்ய நதிகளாகும்
– நரசிம்ஹ புராணம்

தேவர்களை சந்தோஷம் அடையச் செய்பவை!
1)கார்த்தவீர்ய தீப தானம் 2) சூர்ய நமஸ்காரம் 3) விஷ்ணு ஸ்துதி 4) கணேச தர்பன் 5) துர்கா அர்ச்சனா 6) சிவ அபிஷேகம் ஆகிய இந்த ஆறினாலும் தேவர்கள் சந்தோஷம் அடைகின்றனர்.
-நாரதீய புராணம்

ப்ரளயம் நான்கு வகைப்படும்
1) நித்யம் 2)நைமித்திகம் 3) ப்ராக்ருதம் 4) ஆத்யந்திகம் என இவ்வாறு பிரளயம் நான்கு வகைப்படும்.
-கூர்ம புராணம், அக்னி புராணம், சூர்ய புராணம்

துர்கா ஸப்த சதி!
துர்கா ஸப்த சதி மார்க்கண்டேய புராணத்தில் வருகிறது.
துர்கா ஸப்த சதியில் 13 அத்தியாயங்களே உள்ளன.
முதல் அத்தியாயத்திலிருந்து 13 அத்தியாயம் முடிய ஒவ்வொரு அத்தியாயத்திலும் முறையே 104,69,44,42,129,24,27,63,41,32,55,41,29 ஸ்லோகங்கள் உள்ளன. இவற்றை மொத்தம் கூட்டினால் வருவது 700 ஆகும். (ஸப்த சதி என்றால் எழுநூறு என்று பொருள்)

நாராயணன் என்று பெயர் வரக் காரணம்!

முன்னொரு காலத்தில் ஜல பிரளயம் ஏற்பட்டது. அந்த பிரளய வெள்ளத்தில் உலகமெல்லாம் முழுகிப் போயிற்று. சராசரங்களெல்லாம் ஒழிந்து போயின. ஜலத்தைத் தவிர வேறொன்றுமில்லை. அப்போது பிரம தேவர் ஆயிரம் கண்களும் ஆயிரம் கால்களும் கொண்டு மஹாவிஷ்ணு ரூபம் கொண்டார். மூன்று கண்களை உடைய சிவ பெருமானுடைய திருவடிகளைத் தியானம் செய்து கொண்டு அந்தப் பிரளயத்தில் அவர் படுத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார். நரன் என்று பெயர் கொண்ட சிவ பெருமானால் உண்டாக்கப்பட்டபடியால் ஜலத்துக்கு நாரம் என்று பெயர் உண்டாயிற்று. அந்த ஜலத்தில் பள்ளி கொண்டிருந்தபடியால் அந்த பிரம்மாவுக்கு நாராயணன் என்று பெயர் உண்டாயிற்று.

அப்போது சிவ பெருமான் அந்தப் பிரமனுக்கு தகுந்த பலத்தைக் கொடுத்து பாதாளத்தில் அழுந்தி இருந்த பூமியை ‘எடுத்து நிறுத்து என்று கட்டளை இட்டார். அந்த நாராயணன் உடனே ஆகாயமளாவும்படியான ஒரு பெரிய வராக ரூபம் கொண்டான். பின்னர் பாதாளம் போய் அங்குள்ள பூமியைக் கொம்பினால் ஏந்திக் கொண்டான். அதைப் பார்த்துத் தேவர்கள் எல்லோரும், “உலகங்களையெல்லாம் உள்ளங்காலுக்குள் அடக்குவாய். ஒரு கவளம் சோறு போல் உண்டு விடுவாய். இது உனக்குப் பெரிதாகுமா, என்ன!” என்று புகழ்ந்து கொண்டாடி, ‘இத்தகைய மஹிமையை உடைய உமக்கு நமஸ்காரம் பண்ணுகிறோம்’ என்று துதித்தார்கள்
திருமால் பூமியை முன் போல நிலை நிறுத்தி மறுபடியும் முன் போலப் பிரம்மாவாய் விட்டார்.

ஸ்கந்த புராணம், சூத சம்ஹிதை, சிவமான்மிய காண்டம், எட்டாவது அத்தியாயம்

தூய்மை (சௌசம்) எதனால் ஏற்படும்?

1.சத்யம் – உண்மை
2.மன: – மனம்
3.இந்த்ரிய நிக்ரஹ – இந்திரியங்களை அடக்குதல்
4.தயா – தயை (அல்லது இரக்கம்)
5.ஜலம் – நீர்
ஆகிய இந்த ஐந்தால் தூய்மை ஏற்படும்.

சத்யசௌசம் மன: சௌசம் சௌசமிந்த்ரியாணிநிக்ரஹ: I
சர்வபூதே தயா சௌசம் ஜலசௌசம் ச பஞ்சமம் II

சத்யசௌசம் –வாய்மையால் தூய்மை
மன: சௌசம் மனத்தால் தூய்மை
சௌசமிந்த்ரியாணிநிக்ரஹ: -இந்திரியங்களைக் கட்டுப்படுத்துவதால் தூய்மை
சர்வபூதே தயா சௌசம் – அனைத்து உயிர்களிடமும் தயையுடன் இருப்பதால் தூய்மை
ஜலசௌசம் – நீரினால் தூய்மை
ச பஞ்சமம் –ஆகிய இந்த ஐந்தும் தூய்மை (தரும்)
-கருட புராணம் 113- 37

நான்கை வைத்து ஒரு மனிதனை எடை போடு!

ஸ்ருத – அறிவு
சீலம் – ஒழுக்கம்
குலம் – குலம்
கர்மம் – செய்கை
ஆகிய நான்கையும் வைத்து ஒரு மனிதன் எப்படிப்பட்டவன் என்பதை எடை போடுங்கள்!

த தா சதுர்பி: புருஷ: பரீக்ஷ்யதே
ஸ்ருதேன ஷீலேன குலேன கர்மணா,

த தா சதுர்பி: புருஷ: பரீக்ஷ்யதே – நான்கை வைத்து மனிதனை பரிட்சை செய்தல் வேண்டும்.
ஸ்ருதேன ஷீலேன குலேன கர்மணா – அறிவு, ஒழுக்கம், குலம், செய்கை (ஆகியவற்றின் மூலம் நிர்ணயித்து விடலாம்).
