All of us go to temples and pray for one million things. Hindus pray for Moksha which is absent in Semitic prayers. Only people belonging to oriental religions pray to get out of B irth and Death Cycle. Since three speakers are in museums theory they don’t bother about Mukti or Moksha.
Hindus’ oldest prayers are in the Rig Veda. Probably those are the oldest prayers in the world. Greeks started writing (literature) only from 800 BCE. Hebrews and Chinese come closer to Hindus. Tamils started writing books from first century BCE. Just after the Latin speakers. Other ancient languages and their works are in museums now.
Greek god ZEUS is like the Indra of Rig Veda. Some people would compare him with Vedic Dyaus, Prajapathi, Jupiter etc.
Let my Father Die, Please!
Here is a bit of information from the book Eureka by Peter Jones:-
Greeks were well aware of the paradoxes inherent in Homer’s view of the gods . The brilliant satirist Lucian, writing in the second century CE, described how Zeus sat up in heaven in front of a collection of what looked like wells , each with a cover. He lifted the lid off each well to hear what prayers , covenants, oaths, omens and sacrifices in his name were coming through to him.
One man asked to become king, another that his onions and garlic should grow, another that his father should soon die. Some sailors prayed that the north wind should blow, others the south; farmers prayed for rain, people doing the washing for sun.
When ZEUS had listened to them all (groaning, as he did so, at the impossibility of keeping everyone happy), he left his orders, sounding rather like a TV weatherman: “Rain today in Scythia, lightning in Libya, snow in Greece; north wind in Lydia, south wind, take a rest, west wind, raise a storm over the Adriatic Sea; and a few large baskets of hailstones, fall on Cappadocia.”

(MISS SUKUMARI)
hen hitch hiking
(WRIST WATCH)
(KNOCKING AT DOOR)
(MILK MAN)
(EXAM DAY MORNING)

sri Rama
Hanuman in Madura.
Surpanakha meeting Sri Rama, Deogarh Temple
Tribal woman SABARI blessed by Sri Rama, Deogarh Temple

Tamil folk tales
A respectable merchant had his daughter instructed by a famous teacher in the town. After a few years of studying under him, she attained womanhood. On hearing of this, father of the girl called her and said,
My girl! Go and tell your Guru the good news. Don’t forget to give him Guru Dakshina along with coconut, betel nuts and fruits. Accordingly she went to the school master and having given him the betel nut, fruits and the fee, made her obeisance and said,
Sir, bless me and allow me to take leave.
Guru said,
Have I taken pains with you till now for the sake of this worthless money? Your father had already given me enough. I have for many years desired to embrace you. Now is the right time. Do not refuse me. Having said this he moved forward to molest her.
On hearing this the girl of honourable family trembled and agitated. She shouted at him,
You wretch! Ungrateful traitor! Is it right for you to lust after me? Learned fool! You will speedily be undone.
So saying she escaped from him and ran home. Because her father was busy with his business matters, she did not tell him at once.
In the meantime, the cunning teacher came to the merchant’s house and gave him the very bad news. I heard from your daughter that she has attained puberty. Just now I looked at her horoscope. It happened at the most inauspicious time. It is going to bring utter disaster for everyone in your family.
The merchant got very upset and asked him,
What can I do now?
The teacher told him,
Nothing to worry. Just put her in a basket and float her in the river. God will take care of her.
The merchant also acted hastily and did whatever he said.
While the basket with the girl was floating in the river a king came for hunting. He saw the box and recovered it from the river. When he saw a beautiful teenager inside he sent her to his palace in his golden palanquin. He had hunted a tiger on the day. He put the wounded tiger in the basket and left it in the river.
The teacher had a cunning plan. He came alone and stopped the box. He took it on the head of workers to his house. In the night he scented himself with all sandal paste and fragrant garlands. He took the box into his private room. Burning with evil desire he asked,
What do you say now my girl? As soon as he opened the box the angry tiger sprang upon him and tore him to pieces.
A king kept a parrot as a pet. He liked it very much. One day it left the palace and flew with the birds that came from the heaven. The king got worried. But it came back after several days. It brought him a mango stone/ seed from the heaven. Afterwards addressing the king it said,
If you plant this and make it grow, whoever eats of its fruit, old age will forsake him and youth return. The king felt very happy and did bury the seed in his favourite garden. Every day he watered the tree with utmost care and looked after it very well with proper manure.
After some years having come to maturity it put forth buds, flowered, set its young fruit and bore ripe fruits. Immediately on its bearing ripe fruit the king ordered a mango from it to be cut and brought. He wanted to test it first and so gave it to an old man. The man fell down and died. The king was very angry. He thought that the parrot must have brought a poisonous fruit from his enemy. He thought it was a foreign conspiracy. So he took the parrot from its cage swung it round and striking it against the ground killed it. But it was an innocent bird.
What happened was just before the king’s man brought the mango, a snake fell on the fruit and vomited its poison. And a kite took the snake very next minute. So no one knew the poison in the fruit.
tamilandvedas.com, swamiindology.blogspot.com
After the death of old man, the tree was known as the poisonous mango tree. Whilst things were so, a washer man siding with his wife, struck his aged mother. The old woman vexed with her son decided to commit suicide. She came to the tree at the dead of night plucked a fruit and ate it. Immediately she became a sixteen-year-old beautiful girl. The servants came to know about it in the morning and took the girl to the king. He was surprised to see her and gave the fruits to some old people. All of them became very young. The king cried saying,
Alas! I have sinned by killing the innocent bird. I am a wretch. From that day he made a vow not to feel angry at any time.

Tamils are super Hindus. Out of 200,000 temples in India, about 45,000 temples are in Tamil Nadu. H R C E of Tamil Nadu Government are maintainig them. The devotional literature in Tamil is more than what we have in Sanskrit if we take the medieval period into account. Of course Sanskrit had more devotional literature more than 3000 years ago. At that time Tamil didn’t have anything.
Tamils understood the Vedas better than other communities. They named the Vedas rightly ‘Secret’, ‘Hidden’, ‘un written study’ (Kurun 156) etc. They knew that Vedas shouldn’t be read literally. Many thousand years later, Tamil Siddhas used such symbolic, coded language.
Oldest book available in Tamil is Tolkaappiam. It is a grammar book similar to Ashtadhyayi of Panini composed by a Brahmin disciple of Agastya. His name is Trunadumagni according to the most famous Tamil commentator Nacchinarkiniyar. Agastya is a gotra (clan) name , so we don’t know which Agastya he mentioned. But Nacchinarkiniyar thought that it was Rig Vedic Agastyar (spouse of Queen Lopamudra).
The great surprise in the oldest book of Tamils is, all the Tamil Gods mentioned by him are Vedic Gods! Older generation easily digested this fact. Because they knew Tamils are like their counterparts in the north. But the Dravidian politicians could not digest it and so they thought that it was an interpolation. But they cut a sorry face when scholars pointed out that the Sangam Literature is full of Vedic Gods. To every one’s surprise neither the name of Gautama Siddharta Buddha nor the great Jain saint Varthamana Mahavira is named anywhere in Sangam literature. But passing remarks of Buddhists and Jains are there. But again Dravidian politicians are not happy. Because all the words are in Sanskrit or spoken / colloquial Prakrit (in Brahmi inscriptions)!
Sangam Tamil literature is vast; 18 books have nearly 30,000 lines composed by over 450 poets.
Let us look at the Gods mentioned in the oldest book Tolkaappiam.
Author Tolkaapiar alias Truna Duma Agni begins his verse with
In other paces he mentioned the Goddess of arid area as Durga (in Tamil Korravai and Ayirai).
There is no difference of opinion in identifying the gods.
Reference about Indra Festival, bringing down the Indra pillar , Indra Flag are in later literature which confirms what Tolkappiam said.
In the same way, Varuna’s worship by sea faring community and fisherman is also in Sangam literature.
Palmyra flag of Balarama is also mentioned in another place in Tolkappiam and later Sangam verses.
According to chronology, Purananuru comes next. There are innumerable references to Vedas, Vedic Sacrifices (including Rajasuya Yagam), Vedic altar in the shape of Eagle constructed for Karikal Choza, Yupa Stamba, Lord Shiva with poison in his neck, Vishnu, Goddess Uma, Durga , Aryambika (in Tamil Ayirai) etc.
Most interesting thing is the gods are identified by their flags or Vahanas. So Tamils were well versed with the Puranas 2000 years ago. And another surprising thing is full description of a Vedic sacrifice by Vishnudasa of Kaundinya Gotra (Viinan+Thayan= Vishnu Dasa). A 33 line verse about his Yajna has got lot of information which no one could explain in full.
One world be surprised to see poets’ names such as Valmiki, Brahma, Damodara, Kesava, Kannadasa (Kannan+ Thayan) , Vishnu dasa, Kamakshi (Kamakkanniyar), Sulochana (Nakkannai), Kabila, Barana, Dharmaputra, Gauthama etc.
Kaundinya, Kausika, Kavya gotras of poets are also prefixed with their names.
Highest number of poems are composed by two Brahmin poets Kabilar and Baranar (Tamil spelling Paranar).
6000 year old Sanskrit words of Rig Veda are used in Sanskrit itself in Sangam Literature!! Vadhuvai, Yupam, Ganga, Himalayas, Muni, Vanik/a etc.

Of the verses on Lord Shiva , the most beautiful one is Purananuru Verse number 6 on Pal Yagasalai Mudukudumi Peruvazuthi.
His country was full of Yupa pillars/poles and he would bow his head only twice in his life. When he goes around Shiva temple and when Brahmins bless him. He was one of the oldest Pandya kings. And he was a Pre-Tsunami catastrophe king. Pahruli River and Kumari landscape devoured by the sea were still intact in his days according to the verses. And the strangest thing is Sanskrit word ‘Veda’ and ‘Yupa’ are used in Sanskrit. Later they were translated into Tamil ‘Marai’ and ‘Maram’ or ‘Thun’.
