First let me give you some good news from Uttar Pradesh,

Listeners may remember that Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi announced in parliament a trust to oversee the construction of a Ram Temple in Ayodhya, as ordered by the Supreme Court.

Now the trust  known as “Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra”,  has received donations exceeding rupees  one hundred crores. Apart from the cash donations, the trust has received silver vessels weighing 200 kilos.

In the mean time,

RAAMA RATHA YAATRAA HAS REACHED AYODHYA  from Rameswaram .

The yatra, organised by the Chennai-based Legal Rights Council, began on September 17 and covered a distance of 4,500 km across 11 states before reaching its destination.
on Wednesday  its participants handed over a large bell for installation at the Ram temple.

Talking to PTI, Rajlakshmi Manda, who drove the ratha, said the 4.1-foot-tall bell with ‘Jai Sri Ram’ embossed on it weighs 613 kg. Its sound can be heard within a radius of 10 km of the temple

Now some news coming from Kerala……

The expert committee constituted by the Kerala government to suggest measures for the safe conduct of  Sabarimala pilgrimage during Covid – 19 pandemic this season, has recommended that only 1000 devotees each should be allowed to climb up to the hill shrine on week days and two thousand each on Saturday and Sunday.

Pilgrims need Covid – 19 negative certificates  during the annual mandala-makaravilakku pilgrimage season .

All testing and screening activities will be carried out at the Sabarimala base camp at Nilakkal

The mandala-Makaravilakku season will begin in November this year.

Devotees should carry reports to certify that they are not above 60 year of age and do not have any chronic ailments.

Shree Krishna temple in GURUVAAYUR is a famous temple in Kerala.

Despite the government capping the daily number of  devotees allowed to enter the Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple at 1,000, the  shrine now witnesses less than 50% of the permitted number of devotees. vertisement: 3:35

K B Mohandas, chairman,  Guruvayur Devaswom, told  newspapermen “Though 1,000 people are allowed to have darshan at the temple daily after booking their visit through the virtual queue system, hardly 50% of them turn up .

“Of the around 500 devotees who visit the temple daily, half of them are locals in the absence of devotees who have booked their visit.

The number of marriages held at the Guruvayur temple,  too has been drastically hit. Compared to the pre-Covid times when around 100 weddings used to take place daily at the divine abode, their number has come down to a handful now.

Another famous temple, is also affected due to virus attack.

The Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram has been closed for devotees till October 15, after at least 10 priests tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the temple authorities, daily poojas will be held by Tantris,  but devotees will not be allowed inside the temple till October 15.

Another controversy is brewing in Andhra Pradesh

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will present silk robes to Goddess Kanaka Durga atop Indrakeeladri on Moola Nakshatram day during Navaratri celebrations, according to Sri Durga temple Devasthanam

The temple trust board held a meeting on Wednesday to review arrangements for the nine-day Dasara festivities, which will be held from October 17 to 25.

The trust board passed as many as 37 resolutions regarding the arrangements for the annual temple festival and other development works.

Addressing the media, temple Executive Officer MV Suresh Babu said the budget for the festivities is estimated at Rs 5 crore.

A few weeks ago Jagan mohan Reddy’s visit to the Balaji Temple at Tirupati created a controversy. He is a Christian and he came to the temple without his wife. Politicians and Hindu organisations criticised him for this.

In the mean time………………….

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat offered prayers at the Goddess Kanaka Durga Temple on Saturday.

Bhagwat reached Vijayawada a day earlier to participate in the three-day RSS annual meeting .

On his visit to the hill shrine, temple Executive Officer  MV Suresh Babu and priests accorded him a traditional welcome.

Hindus in Britain have criticised the A Q A for linking Hindus with terrorism in the school syllabus.

AQA,  the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance, is an awarding body in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It compiles specifications and holds examinations in various subjects at GCSE, AS and A Level and offers vocational qualifications.

AQA is a registered charity and independent of the government

Vinay sharma , a Hindu from London has brought this issues on social media and asked all Hindus concerned to send an e mail to AQA.

Mr Sharma pointed out the line in the syllabus

On Page 4 and page 11 of the GCSC syllabus it says  “some Hindus have turned to terrorism to protect Hindu beliefs.”

Hindu organisations have no representative in the AQA.  They see it as a deliberate attempt to malign Hinduism. They also point out a mountain is made out of molehill.

According to Mr Sharma their email is eos@aqa.org.uk

Hindus should ask the exam body to change these lines and any such matters in their syllabus

so that the image of Hindus and Hinduism is not wrongly projected amongst the children of this

country.
