London Brahmins have been doing the Rik Yajur Upakrma (Annual Sacred Thread changing Ceremony) for over 30 years now. I have been attending it almost every year from 1987 in London. We missed it in 2020 due to the Chinse virus attack. In the beginning Mr Panchanathan was officiating for us. Then Sri Kalyanasundara Sivacharyar was officiating for us on behalf of World Hindu Mahasangam.. Since it has been organised in various areas in London, we get 40 people in Brent, London. It takes two hours to do the Homam and Vedarambham. Everybody remembers the long long Maha sankalpam and Panini’s Mahesvarani Sutras. We hire halls or temple premises to do it. For those ask for Sankalpa Mantras I used to post it. I have attached some pictures for our record and for your record.

On 22^nd August 2021, we did at Kanaga Durga Temple (Kanaka Thurkai amman alayam) in Ealing, London. Si Kalyanasundara Sivacharya and Sri Balasubrahmanya Sivacharya conducted the ceremony. Over 30 people attended the event. The temple authorities honoured me and Mr Sivasanakaran and Mr Shastri. We were adorned with shawls (Ponnadai in Tamil)
