Yesterday we looked at Converbial Positive. We use AND in English to join or connect many actions in one sentence. In Tamil we use Converbial for it.

Converbial Negative is used to say WITHOUT.

It is formed in two ways:

1.      You add இல்லாமல் Ilaamal  after a Noun or a Pronoun

2.      with infinitive of any Tamil verb to mean WITHOUT

With verbs you add ஆமல், +ஆது

பணம்  இல்லாமல் Panam/Money illaamal= Without Money இல்லாது ,

டிக்கெட் இல்லாமல் tikkat/ ticket illaamal= Without Ticket இல்லாது ,

அவன் இல்லாமல்/ இல்லாது  Avan illaamal= Without HE (in him) இல்லாது , இல்லாமல்

அவள்  இல்லாமல் Aval illaamal= Without SHE (in her) இல்லாது , இல்லாமல்

With Verbs

வராது, போகாது, செய்யாது , பார்க்காது

Infinitive + ஆமல் or  +ஆது

வர-+ஆமல் = வராமல் (Vara + aamal = Varaamal =Without coming வராது,

போக+ ஆமல் = போகாமல் Poka+ aamal = Pokaamal =Without Going போகாது
