Battle of Venni
A place near Thanjavur, now known as Kovilvenni is the place where a battle took place between Chozan Karikalan and 11 Velirs, probably his kinsmen and neighbours. Period: BCE
Velirs were Chieftans controlling small areas.

Second Battle of Venni
Between the Chera king Peruncheral Adan and Karikal Chozan . as the Chera king was wounded in the back , he starved unto death. It is a Hindu custom. If the king is dead, war is finished; if the king is wounded on the back, it was also considered defeat. Bhagavad Gita and Sangam literature say that those who die on the battle fields get direct entry into swarga/heaven. Visa free, ticket less flight to heaven.

Cheran Senguttuvan invaded Northern India and fought with Kongu kings of the north who were aided by the Kalingas (of Orissa) and other kings in the north. Cheran was victorious.

This is one of the famous battles of Sangam Age. This place is in the Nannilam Taluka of old Thanjavur district. Pandya Neduncheziyan fought with the allied forces of Choza, Titiyan, Ezini, and Erumaiyuran where the Pandya was victorious.

It happened between the Choza king Senganan and the Chera king Kanaikkal Irumporai, where the Chera was defeated. The Chera king was imprisoned in the port of Kudavayil. Here the Chera king committed suicide on account of the delay in supply of drinking water to him.

Imayavrampan Neduncheralathan
One who had Himalayas as his Norther border.
He defeated Aryan Kings and Yavana (Roman) pirates. He caught the Yavanas and tied their hands behind and poured oil on their head. Hindu kings used to punish the kings by shaving of hair in their head and pour oil on it. After the Yavanas/Roman gave him diamonds and gold they were released. According to Pathiruppattu, a Sangam book, he ruled 58 years.

Sent Brahmin Couple to Swarga/heaven
Brother of Imyavarampan (see above).
He demolished Agappa Aran (rampart and moat of a Fort)
He worshipped Durga in Ayirai Hills.
When Vedic couples asked him to send them to heaven in human bodies, as they instructed did ten Yagas; the couple disappeared at the time of tenth Yaga (Fire Ceremony) according to intro of Pathitruppattu book. Brahmin poet Palaikkauthamanar (Gowthama) sang in praise of him. He ruled for 25 years.
He went to forest for Vanaprastha stage with Nedum Bharatayanar.
Dhritrashtra, Kunti and Gandhari also went like this and burnt themselves in a forest fire. All the three oldies joined hands and welcomed forest fire to burn them alive according to Mahabharata.

Son of Neduncheralatan ( nedum cheral adan)
Ruled for 25 years.he defeated Chieftain Nannan in Katampin Peruvayil.
He captured Poozi country (part of Pandya area). He defeated Maravas and assumed the title Vaanavarampan (Sky is the limit)
Kapya Gotra Brahmin poet Kappiyanar sang in praise of him

Item 677 Kannaki Statue Inauguration
Cheran Senguttuvan, who installed Kannaki Statue. He went all the way to Holy Himalayas to bring stone and bathed it in Holy Ganga River before sculpting Kannaki figure. On his way he defeated two unknown chieftains Kanaka and Vijaya. Made them to carry the stone on their head. They were released on the consecration day. Sri Lanka King Gajabahu participated in 135 CE in the Installation ceremony.

He captured Kodugur; defeated Mahur Pazaiyan. Defeated nine chieftains in Choza country He enthroned his brother in law Valavan Killi in the choza country;
He ruled fro 55 years. He had a powerful navy and controlled the Arabian sea.
