Points to be noted:

This advice of Don’t steal or Don’t desire for others; property is already n the Isavasya Upanishad and the Ten Commandments in the Bible. Being an ardent Hindu, Valluvar talks about heaven in the last couplet 290.

But I wonder why Valluvar included under asceticism. It should be in the previous Virtue section.

Let him from every fraud preserve his spirit pure.

Deceit in hearts of fraudful men established reigns.
Deceit dwells in the mind of those who are conversant with fraud, even as virtue in the mind s of those who are conversant with rectitude. – GUP

290.Even the powers of the body will fall, when fraud is constantly practise;

On the other hand, the man of rectitude will be in such form as to be loved by the Gods-– SMD

The fraudful forfeit life and being here below;
Who fraud eschew the bliss of heavenly beings know.
Even their body will fail the fraudulent; but even the world of the gods will not fail those who are free from fraud. – GUP

290.Those who practise theft suffer here and hereafter. Those who are free from this evil will not be rejected even by the gods- EVS
