I place my hand on Hajr-e-Aswad and the cover of Kaaba and say that Hindus are a minority in India. Under no circumstances can Hindus be considered a majority.

Music in pastoral region!
Tamils are great music lovers. They hear music in waterfalls, wind blowing through the holes in bamboo trees, birds’ chirps, roaring sea waves etc.
Roaring seas= war drums beating = Narr.395;15;74;
Here is a poem where the frogs are singing; Akam 154,
The frogs in the pool croak like some of the musical instruments, the poet says.
Another poet says about real music coming out of the flutes of the cowherds returning home in the evening- Akam 54.
Flute music is heard not only in the south but also in the north. We know the most famous flute music expert Lord Krishna. He attracted all animals and human beings.
Tamil Periya Puranam sings the glory of Aanaaya Nayanar who reached heaven by playing flute.

Item 652
Sapphire and Coral
Tamils are great gemmologists. They use gemstones to compare even insects.
Akananuru is divided into three sections and the second section is called coral in between two sapphires. In tamil it is
But this simile comes in Akam. 14, long before section two. Section two comprises poems 121-300.
The red ground looks like vermillion; the faded kaya flowers on the ground with the cochineal insects moving quickly amidst them look like sapphire artistically combined with coral.

Item 653
Mirage in Tamil literature
Kalidasa and other poets also described the mirage in Sanskrit.
Tamil poets called the mirage as
White car= ven ter= Akam.179;
Running car = out ter= Akam.89;
Demon /ghost car = pey ter = Narr.84
The car that never runs = valankaat ter- Kali. 7
Looks like vast sheet of water = Akam.327;

Item 654
It is no wonder that the Tamil poets sing the glory of Kaveri, Vaigai and Tambrabarani. But they even mentioned the holy rivers of north India; this shows the Sangam poets considered the whole of India as one nation.
Yamuna is called Thozunai in Akam.59;
Holy River Ganga is mentioned 17 times by Sangam poets.
Here the poet says,
The Ganges descending from the Himalayas is always overflowing its banks, in Puram. 161.

Item 655
Shakespeare in rivers.
There are descriptions of rivers gliding with gentle murmur reminding one of Shakespeare’s rivers in the
Two Gentlemen of Verona – II-VII-25-32
JULIA The more thou damm’st it up, the more it burns. The current that with gentle murmur glides, Thou know’st, being stopped, impatiently doth rage, But when his fair course is not hinderèd, He makes sweet music with th’ enameled stones, Giving a gentle kiss to every sedge He overtaketh in his pilgrimage; And so by many winding nooks he strays With willing sport to the wild ocean.

Item 656
Huge ships
Tamils of Sangam age were great sea farers like their northern counterparts. We see botas in Indus seals, ships in Satakarni coins. Also big Hindu ships in Indonesian sculptures. But we had such huge ships in Sangam age too.
Marutan Ilanakanar’s verse in Akananuru 255 describing the course of a vessel on the sea compares its movement to the whole world in motion by reason of its hugeness and notes its blowing wind bellowing on the surface with the sailor at the helm directing its movement with an eye on the light house on the distant shore.
Akanānūru 255, Mathurai Maruthan Ilanākanār, Pālai Thinai – What the heroine said to her friend If someone would be kind enough to go and tell him that the stacked bangles on my arms have slipped down, my perfect jewels have become loose and I have lost my great beauty, he’ll come back, my friend, to remove the sorrow that ruins me, after leaving to earn wealth on a fear-causing ship that moves as though the earth rises, splitting the stinking waves, sailing days and nights, moved by fast wind, as the ship’s captain looks at the bright flames on the lighthouse on the tall sandy shores and figures distances.

Item 657
Sea = army
The whole sea is compared to the military expedition of a king,
The boats sailing = elephants in the army,
The sound of the waves= beating war drums,
White cranes sitting on the sand heaps= soldiers in white uniform.
This is in Kalittokai 149.

Item 658
Rig Veda and Paranar
Vedic people were great sea farers. After watching the sea for thousands of years one Vedic poet said the sea neither shrinks because the cloud drink its waters, nor swells because the rivers flow in to it.
This is in poem Pathitrupattu 45 as well.
To make such a statement, Hindus must have known thousands of rivers flowing into the sea every minute.
Unless they and their forefathers recorded it no one poet could say it.

1. வசந்த, or spring (Phālguna to Vaiśākha—mid March to mid May);
2. க்ரீஷ்ம/ கோடை , or summer (Vaiśākha to Āṣāḍha—mid May to mid July);
3. வர்ஷ /மழைக்காலம் , or rainy season (Āṣāḍha to Bhādrapadā—mid July to mid Sep-tember );
4. சரத் , or autumn (Bhādrapadā to Kārtika—mid September to mid No-vember);
5. ஹேமந்த /குளிர் காலம் , winter, before the frost (Kārtika to Pauṣa—mid November to mid January);
6. சீர்ஷ , or winter (Pauṣa to Phālguna—mid January to mid March).

Rudra Ekadasi: When Rudram is recited 121 times (11 priests recite it 11 times) it is Rudra Ekadasi.
When Rudram is recited 1331 times (11X11X11) it is Maha Rudram
When Rudram is recited 14641 times (11X 11X11X11) it is Ati Rudram.

Rik Veda or Rig Veda
The oldest anthology in the world; the first Veda of the four Vedas in Hinduism (the other three are Yajur, Sama and Atharva). Modern Indologists in western countries dated it between 1200 BCE and 6000 BCE. And archaeological proof for the Rig Vedic hymn is available from 1380 BCE from Bogazkoy inscription in Turkey. Freedom fighter and great scholar B G Tilak and German scholar Herman Jacobi have independently arrived at a date of 4000 BCE for the Vedas.. Hindus consider them eternal and not composed by humans. They only hear it (see it) and so the Vedic Rishis seers are called Mantra Drshtas. There are approximately 450 poets ; of them 25 are women.
It has 40, 000 lines
It is divided into TEN mandalas (books/divisions); of these six Mandalas are family Mandalas.
Another division is Eight Chapters
It has 1028 Hymns (suktas)
In those 1028 hymns we have 10,600 verses (mantras)
The number of syllables in the Rig Veda is 432,000. (The total number of years in Kali Yuga is 432,000 years. Other Yugas have the multiple of this number).
Sayana’s commentary is followed by the scholars.

Rishikesh
Rishikesh on the banks of holy river Ganga is at the foothills of the holy Himalayas. It is in the state of Uttarkhand. A tiny place was made known to the world by great Tamil saint Swami Sivananda who established Divini Life Society. Now it is fully commercialised and the natural beauty has disappeared. Beatles made it more popular. Now hundreds of Ashrams are doing good business in the name of Yoga.
Rishikesh is accessible by air, train, and road. The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun (21 km away), the primary major railhead is Haridwar (25 km away), and direct motorable roads connect it via National Highway 58.(Author London Swaminathan had been to Rishikesh twice from 1977)

Rtu
Ṛtu (ऋतु) refers to the “seasons”, according to the Puranas. They are six in number. A season, a period of two months. The Hindu year is divided into six Rtus/seasons. The six seasons are
1. Vasanta, or spring (Phālguna to Vaiśākha—mid March to mid May);
2. Grīṣma, or summer (Vaiśākha to Āṣāḍha—mid May to mid July);
3. Varṣa, or rainy season (Āṣāḍha to Bhādrapadā—mid July to mid September );
4. Śarad, or autumn (Bhādrapadā to Kārtika—mid September to mid November);
5. Hemanta, winter, before the frost (Kārtika to Pauṣa—mid November to mid January);
6. Śirśa, or winter (Pauṣa to Phālguna—mid January to mid March).

Rudraksha
Rudraksha (botanically Elaeocarpus ganitrus) are the dried seeds of a large evergreen tree native to the Himalayan region and Southeast Asia. Deeply revered in Hinduism and Buddhism, the name translates to “Eyes of Shiva” in Sanskrit, symbolizing spirituality, meditation, and energetic protection.
The surface of the seed features natural vertical lines or grooves known as mukhis. Rudraksha beads can have anywhere from 1 to 21 faces, with the 5-faced (Panchamukhi) seed being the most common.
Devi Bhagavatam, Siva Purana and other scriptures explain the benefits of wearing Rudraksha Mala/garland. Saivite saints wear Rudraksha malas in large number.

Rudra
Lord Siva is worshipped as Rudra in one form. In the Rig Veda we see Siva as Rudra. In Sangam Tamil literature and later devotional literature, Rudra and Siva are one and the same. But hale baked foreigners are saying they are different. Rudra is clad in animal skins and armed with bow and arrow according to Rig Veda and Tamil literature. Rudra married Rudrani. Both Rudra and Rudrani are in 2700 year old Grammar book of Panini. Rudra’s abode is in the mountains; Till this day Mt Kailash in the Himalaya is worshipped by the Hindus. Svetasvatara Upanishad praises Rudra-Siva.
God is called Doctor and Medicine in the Rig Veda. Though mantras dealing with all Vedic Gods associate them with medicine and cure, Rudra commands the highest position in the field of Medicine. He was called Bhisak/ Doctor and Bhesajam/Medicine. Later we come across Dhanvantri, the Father of Medicine. We should call him the ‘father of MODERN medicine’. He is considered Vishnu or his Avatar.
References to Rudra in the Vedas
Yajur Veda (YV) has a part called Rudram-Chamakam. That is recited by all orthodox Saivite Hindus every day. The priests use it during Abishek of idols in all Siva Temples. Most sacred mantra OM NAMA SIVAYA and Trayambaka Mantra occur in it. God is praised as Bhesajam and Bhisak in it. But RV is older than YV.
Let us look at some of the mantras where physician and medicine occur in RV:-
1-43-2- Rudra’s medicines
1-43-4-Rudra, the possessor of healing remedies. Prayer for health and wealth.
*
Yajur Veda -Vajasaneyi Samhita 16-48; Taittriya samhita5-10-1
Prayer to Rudra for men and beasts to be prosperous and free from disease.
Prayer to obtain what health and wealth father Manu acquired
Rudra carries in his hands the best remedies.
Prayer not to kill the old men, boys, fathers, mothers, adults, foetus, and our bodies.
Prayer not to kill our sons, grandsons, and men, cows and horses.
2-33-1
Prayer for 100 years of life by Rudra’s blissful medicines. Put away far from us sickness in all directions.
One YV mantra mentioned Rudra has 1000 remedies.

Rudram
It is a hymn on Lord Shiva found in Yajur Veda. It is recited along with Camakam. Since Rudram is also known as Namakam, both are called Namakam -Chamakam.
In the Rudra section, Lord Shiva is praised as a great person doing various jobs. It means he controls everything in the universe. We come across the Five Lettered Mantra – panchaksharam – OM NAMASIVAYA in Rudram. So Saivites consider it most important Mantra. Orthodox Hindus recite it every day. In temples, when the Abishekam is done to the idol, Rudram is repeated.
Ati Rudram Rudra Ekadasi: When Rudram is recited 121 times (11 priests recite it 11 times) it is Rudra Ekadasi. When Rudram is recited 1331 times (11X11X11) it is Maha Rudram When Rudram is recited 14641 times (11X 11X11X11) it is Ati Rudram Sri Sathya Sai Baba performed Ati Rudram in Chennai and Puttaparthi. It was the biggest.

Points to be noted:
I have already pointed out the first couplet is from Atharva Veda where mother is compared to Earth.
Here in couplets 169 and 170 Hindu ascetics are referred to, which shows Tiru Valluvar was a practising Hindu.
Hindus fast for good things to happen; earlier he mentioned getting a child by fasting (See Kural 70).
We read that Adi Sankara, Bhakta Markandeya and other great soul were born after fasting by their parents.
Unless he was a Pukka Hindu, couplets like this won’t come from his mouth.
Later we are going to see more of the same.
Last but not the least , we must note the relationship between Bear and PORU in Tamil.
All the old languages evolved from Tamil and Sanskrit which came out of Lod Siva according to Panini and Bharatiyar. Both say the languages came from Lord Siva.
